It has become a sad state of affairs. It’s D1 big boy college baseball, so the talent is there to be competitive. There isn’t a single young man on that team that doesn’t want to win. They lack the cohesiveness that it takes to win a baseball game at that level. I’m not an AD and never will be so I’m not suggesting change coaches or not, but that needed unity has to come from the top.
I would like to watch them practice just to see if they work on fielding grounders and making clean throws, or just putting the bat on the ball while at the plate. I assume/hope they do, but what I see on the weekends doesn’t give me much reason to think that they do.

It’s like when they get down a couple runs , they tense up and the wheels come off.
In other words they don’t have much confidence and it shows .
This is all on the Coaching, I just don’t get it ?

For the first time this season, I turned the stream of the game off and just have it on The Masters.
Smith and Scheffler have made this more interesting to watch ….

I know I having been watching Clemson baseball for 30 years and it’s getting to be like basketball.
Starting to get numb then comes just don’t care .

Ha, something tells me when Clemson baseball is 8- 22 in conference play, deroberts and the coots will be the only ones pleased. He’ll be the guy standing on the titanic telling folks the ride to the bottom of the ocean is free and they have no right to complain

My theory is that at the beginning of the season they still have all the good coaching from summer ball to lean on so they do well. Then as the season continues, all the bad coaching from our staff begins to take over and they look awful. Get ready for another no show in the tournament and losing record for the second year in a row. Punt this season and wait for next year. Watch softball instead.. they look better in a loss than the baseball team does winning.

It doesn't seem improvement to end the season will be enough to get this team to where we need it to be. I'm not sure where the admin is with Monte but no Supers in 5-6 years is unacceptable at Clemson. Barring a late season turnaround that seems unattainable, I don't think Monte will work out. Really wanted him to he successful and had so much promise the first few seasons outside of the postseason chokes.
