I love it but I played it growing up. I can see it being hard to follow if you have never played. Actually have tried learning to watch hockey as well. A sport that I never understood.

Don’t understand the complexity of formations and tactics in soccer. And American commentary on the sport doenst do a good job of explaining it. I didn’t fully get all the different tactics until I started playing football manger game (soccer) and listening to the premier league broadcasts.

This is tue. Kickball is a dumb sport. But with the Tigers having a chance for a natty I at least try to read up on it as the game is playing.

Great you are supporting all the Clemson sports. Just a quick question. This “dumb” sport that only “poor people” play - how many of our football players would be able to play constantly for 45 minutes at a time? A Receiver or cornerback runs, on average, 1.25 miles per game while an average soccer player runs 7 miles per game. Don’t diss a sport that you don’t understand. Go Tigers!

No doubt soccer players are in great shape. Nobody said only poor people play it. In the USA people from rich to poor play it, which is great. In impoverished countries soccer can be played way cheaper than other sports making it very popular.

soccer! And no doubt, it is the most popular sport worldwide. But, what makes it boring to many of us is only one or two goals scored per game. Make the goals two feet taller and at least five feet wider. A 7-6 score would be much more interesting than 1-0. And do away with the silly penalty kick tiebreaker...after the two 10 minute overtimes, go to sudden death...first team to score wins!
One of the fastest growing sports worldwide is basketball...do you think it would be as popular if 19 out of every 20 times down the court, there would be a turnover without even getting a shot off! That's basically what you now have in soccer.
Flame away soccer fans! But I did enjoy watching the two Clemson wins in Cary!
