But I don't think Klubnik is the answer either. I personally, from the Spring game until this point, haven't seen anything from him that makes me go, this kid is an elite passer.
However, I do think we have a Trevor/Hunter Johnson situation brewing because every highlight I've seen from Vazzina looks promising, almost like watching highlights of DW4 or TL16 before they got here.
The future is still bright for recruiting QB's at Clemson and watch out for Vazzina when he gets here, I think he's going to be our next generational type player.

At least if he isn’t the guy and transfers out, we won’t care as much, but never trying him is a guaranteed transfer.

Tough to tell really, it's not like they've given him a lot of chances.
Still, the straw that stirs the drink for our offense for years has seemed to be a QB who can run when needed. Cade looks like he can do that in spades and that opens up opportunities in the passing game.
I would be interested in how he would look knowing all week he was going to start and get a full game in.

I don't think he's been in a position to even tell yet. He needs first team reps and a start, instead of coming in ice cold down 2 TDs mid game.

Maybe, but DW4 came in as a true freshman in Athens checked his first play from what the coaches called then threw a 30 yard strike in between two defenders to Cherone Peake for a touchdown. We all knew what we had in Deshaun instantly. Then Trevor comes in and throws a perfect deep ball in the spring game and we all knew then instantly as well.
Cade has never shown that and I doubt he will. Both DW4 and Trevor seemed mature beyond their years when they came to Clemson. Klubnik seems like he's still a High School senior in over his head. Vazzina might just be the truth , that kid can run and has a big arm, he can escape pressure in the pocket and keeps his eyes downfield. Unlike what we have going on now from our QB1 and QB2 spots.

Yeah DW4 was great, and he also had some great weapons to work with. Cade didn't look bad in his first series with GT either. No matter what, you have to get reps and work with the first team offense. The situation is much different in this offense.

Putting him in, randomly, for a series or two doesnt show us much. What would he look like for an entire half or game, running the offense from the get-go? Maybe we will find out soon.

It’s funny that same thing is what a lot of people were saying about Cade at this time last year. There really is no way to know how these kids are going to do in college based on their first 3 years in high school. I hope both Cade and Vizinna turn out great but it is too early to tell with both of them.

Well, I think he deserves an honest chance before reaching that conclusion. The “QB battle” was a predetermined conclusion from the start. He wasn’t given either equal or a fair chance of getting meaningful snaps during the season because of the fear for a QB controversy. The decision was made to put all of our eggs in DJ’s basket and we are what we are. The stale offensive play calling is another issue, maybe due keeping it simple for the QB. If not, we need an OC as well.

over 3000 students and a program in the highest division, 6A, in Texas.
He hasn't been given enough opportunity to showcase fully his talents. Therefore, I don't believe anyone other than our staff can "see" anything yet, and I don't really believe our staff has seen enough of his talents in battle. Why? Because there's a he1l of a lot of difference between facing your teammate buddies and opponents looking to smash in your teeth.

who only trolls and does not watch Clemson Football -- Cade came into the Ga.Tech game and took the team right down the field 4 for 6 passing and a TD pass to Will Taylor - looked like a pro,the first time on the field. Fly back to Cootlumbia coot !!!!!!
Cade will be fine,when his time comes as will the Vazzina kid,but right now "we Clemson fans",not you troll****,hope that something can be done to salvage the season,with the team we have today__ GO TIGERS !!!!!

Where did you get me trolling in anything I've said? It seems that the people who like to call others coots here are the ones who don't pay attention to college football and certainly not what's been happening with Clemson these last two seasons.
What you will find from me is thoughtful responses to people's posts and you will find that I know wayyyyyy more about Clemson football than you ever will. Saying he isn't Deshaun or Trevor as a freshman doesn't mean he can't become a really good player. He's obviously not as physically gifted as those guys right now so it may take another season for him. It does seem pretty obvious at this point that the coaches are only comfortable putting him in the game when they have no other choice so that should tell you all you need to know. Can't imagine we are running a junior high offense out of choice if we had the next great Clemson QB just sitting on the bench.

This sums up my thoughts as well.
DW4 and TL16 were out-of-the-box ready talents. I see CK2 flashing but he's not doing it at a level like TL16 or DW4 as a freshman -- the game has definitely not slowed down enough for him yet to be super effective.
Also, probably the biggest thing most have noticed is that he's not going to bullet passes like TL16 or DJ5 but he has some unbelievable touch on throws. Heck, that pass to Ngata for the 2 pt conversion was a thing of beauty so the arm talent is there despite not having great arm strength.

The fans got what they wanted. He makes some dangerous decisions right now and hasn’t fully adjusted to the speed of the college game yet.
This offensive scheme isn’t gonna be the answer. How are we going to keep getting 5 star talent looking like this ? We already can’t get 5 star WRs anymore .. should we keep doing what we’re doing with these talented young QBs?

I really think Cade is going to be a great QB. I would start him the next game. Streeter needs to turn him loose.
