That was never anything more than a ploy to make SC'ers feel like the Panthers were their local team too. They have always been the Charlotte Panthers imo.

you know it's not good when you get a QB that CLEVELAND threw away...I could run that team better.

I honestly don’t know who to believe on this situation. I ride by there everyday. Currently building a bridge over 77 to no where I guess.

They can always put a giant Buc-ees there since Charlottean's drive across the border to buy cheaper gas anyway. We will take their gas tax money. That will show em.

This is all entirely calculated...

The City Rock Hill and the Panthers need to release one another from the existing deal in order for York County and the Panthers to move forward with a new plan.
As I understand it, it's basically a matter of shifting the debt from the City to the County. At the end of the day, I still think it all gets built.

I think the bigger issue is that they want the Panthers to front the money and then get paid back with tax incentives etc. Im not sure what the original agreement was as the back and forth he said she said is crazy at this point. I live in York county and I am not really sure a quarter of a billion dollar tax break for the Panthers is worth it.

Especially when Tepper could pay for it himself.

Richest NFL owner and 103rd richest person in the world at $16.7 billion per CBS. When will cities and states stop babying these spoiled brats and racing each other to the bottom? You want a new stadium or facility, finance it yourself. That goes for corporations too. They get enough breaks in the tax code as it is.

Yea the city says they have done what has been asked and seemed surprised initially. The county cannot get in touch with the Tepper side according to one of the York County Councilmen so I do not know who is to blame. I started to think he was wanting to back out for some reason. The building looks like it would have been a beautiful one. Different looking but could see some type of office space being in there. They are continuing to work on the road and bridge portion just nothing at the actual building. Been A LOT of money already been spent on this deal.

Tepper initially backed the players kneeling during the anthem. That was all I needed to know. Wanted the Texans and Raiders to do well but have since pulled for the Bills. I love the QB and there GM is a local guy. Also seemed to be a consistency for drafting Clemson players something the Panthers never did. I moved on but fairly certain they could care less.

Because they don’t draft Clemson players but was happy that Rock Hill was getting all of this built here because It would have been great for the city.

Sounds like the City of Rock Hill promised something they eventually couldn’t deliver. Even though I’m not a fan, I can’t say I blame Tepper when it sounds like he was promised money up front and instead now Is being told the $225 million will be paid as future tax breaks. He has the money to move on and let the current site be an eyesore but all economic reasons he initially decided to bring it to Rock Hill still exist. I’m sure his business plan for building in Rock Hill is still favorable without the local government’s participation.
