You don't even know what Neff's job is. Hiring and firing coaches is way down the list of priorities for a major college AD.

Not true at all. It can absolutely get the AD fired if he’s inept at his/her job. It’s about having a winning program. And this has been a very poor year for Clemson athletics so far, including:

* An inexplicable loss to the Coots in football that snapped a long home winning streak and a streak against them;
* Embarassing blow out losses to ND and in the bowl game (with Clemson fans showing their displeasure by not showing up in Miami - I was there);
* Basketball…same ole same ole including a loss to a horrible Coot team, and even worse UL team and another season ending without an ncaa bid and an embarrassing loss in the NIT
* Baseball lost the series to the Coots. Bakich needs time but I don’t see this team making the baseball tournament this year.

About the only positive is softball. They’re great and they seem to be playing well together.

Neff is making decisions today that will define his career. Brownell and his penchant for mediocrity is not something he should hitch his wagon to. But he has chosen to do so.
