This basketball team needs three things:

Jan 8, 2015, 9:21 AM

1. Legit interior presence on both ends
Last night, our 4 big men scored 15 points, all those by Blossomgame. We need a true low post scorer we can put down on the block and let him go to work and that can cash in put backs.
2. We need a true driver, who can drive the ball down the lane and kick it back out to an open shooter, pass it to an open big man, or finish.
We seemed to have success last night when we tried this with Harrison, he may be the guy to do this.
3. We need to be able to knock down open shots. Especially the kick out threes and layups on the break.
I hope the team continues to get better, last night they showed a solid effort, now if they can just keep working and improving we might be a solid team at the end of the season.

Agree w this. Not sure where the inside went. The more Bliss does the more Nnoko disappears. As to hitting open shots that just doesn't seem to be in our dna

They need one other thing they do not have,an ACC caliber point guard. Hall has some positive physical attributes but he is far from an adequate point guard. Because of attrition we have no options this year. The two incoming point guards will make a very positive impact next year. No way to be good without a point guard who can make others better.

I've been hearing this for a decade.

Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner! The biggest, most insurmountable problem Brownell faces against elite teams is the disparity at point guard. I'm sure Hall might be a great quarterback on the football field, unfortunately he's playing basketball. I'm not saying he's a bad player, he's not. He does have several talents needed by the team, just a wrong fit for that position. When the Tigers find a basketball qb who understands the game, and has the skill to run Brownell's system, watch out. Blossomgame, Harrison, and Grantham are kids who can play!

So basically your saying we have 1 good player?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

In terms of our big men(Djitte, Nnoko, Smith. and Blossomgame) only Blossomgame is a solid player

We have a several players who are good but struggle with inconsistency.

My thoughts

Jan 8, 2015, 10:47 AM

It will help a great deal when Grantham adjusts to the college game. I am convinced that he can be a difference maker when he becomes a confident player ... and he will. Roper was much better last night and that is a good sign. Hall is a very capable point guard regardless of what the experts say but he needs help from his teammates. Harrison and Blossomgame are dependable players. Nnoko is the piece of the puzzle that I can't explain. He just doesn't have it and that is hard to accept.

Clemson got the best shot Louisville had last night and almost came out on top. We didn't catch them on a bad night. A loss like that on the road to a top five team is not the end of the world.
BB can coach and eventually he will bring in that hotshot guy that we desperately need. Support this team.

Not a dumper on this team, but I'm not sure we didn't get them on something of a down night. The great thing about it is, if we didn't get them on a bad night, it'll show in some hard fought wins in conference. Hope so as they need the shot of confidence it would bring.
Either way they showed grit.
Go Tigers!!
