Why are we not playing now and Rose Bowl at 8:45? It would be 5:45 there.

I agree. Just so happens that after being off work for the past 4 days for new years , i have to go in early tomorrow morning at 4 so have to get up at 2..the way my nerves already are i won't even be going to sleep..have to work 12 hours on top of that. Just hope I'm happy going in

I have to leave for work immediately after the game for at least a 12 hour shift. Fingers crossed we win, it'll make the shift much easier to get thru.

Or, maybe they alternate the 2-3/1-4 games.
Last year the 1-4 game was first and the 2-3 game was late. IDK, just a thought.

Nope not the reason. The Rose bowl has a contract to be on New Year’s Day at 5 pm eastern and the sugar bowl has a contract to be on New Year’s Day after the Rose bowl. These games have been in these time slots for years and will be for many more years.

so those teams could fly back home tonight.
B/c Clemson and Alabama were so close to the Sugar, this would make travel time, more importantly, arrival time close for both teams playing next week.

No, the Rosebowl has always kicked off around this time. Same for the Sugar, that game is always super late.
