Jersey City, New Jersey? Guess all the Boys (Duke, UNC, Nova, St Johns, UK et al) get their pick and leave crumbs to the rest. I understand that Calipari's salary is 5 times the budget of St Pete's athletic program and have a below average arena, sorry, gym that was built in 1975 and seats...ready...3,200. Am not or ever have been a basketball coach or Ad, but maybe it's not all about $$$ or arenas/coliseums...maybe it also requires being serious about recruiting and coaching

One of the better posts I've read concerning basketball. Knowing how to get the best of each player on your team. Wait, that's exactly what Dabo does. Poof , lightbulb.

But it just wouldn't work here in Clemson. The Judge said so.

St Peter hit on a good year but don’t expect them to take the place of an elite team. Their roster is filled with players from their state or neighboring states. Undervalued players with something to prove. Unfortunately I doubt these guys from inner city NY or NJ or Mass could find Clemson on a map. So without familiarity or history of success a coach needs something to sell.

They could find Clemson on a map if it had reasonable success in basketball, especially being an ACC school. Tobacco Road has had success over the years bringing kids from that part of the country to play ACC basketball. Some kids from urban areas like the opportunity to go to school in a less urban environment...

In Basketball I firmly believe it’s 90% coaching and recruiting, and 10% everything else. If Facilities and budget were that important UNC would be the champion every year

African nations? That would be of the THREE on roster from African nations. Not quite several, professor.
Better yet, how many of those were recruited outside the Northeast of the U.S.???
Your research is worse than your troll game.

Yea there were a few in the tourney that I’m sure had worse facilities and monies than we do. The right coach will bring the enthusiasm to a program that will pursuade the hand of an admin to make the needed changes imo. They are not getting rid of Brownell so we should just move our focus to baseball, softball and the upcoming football season.

Definition of several is more than 2 but not too many more. Also what are the entrance requirements at St Peters?

I agree. Several or a few can be 3 or 4. Especially when a total of 10 or so are involved.

you can't land any of them. That is Brown-L's problem. Along with the whole "haven't got a clue what to do near the end of close games" deal.

If St. Peter's was in the ACC, they would win no more than 2 games. That doesn't take away from what they've done once in the NCAAT, but don't pretend that because they made the Sweet 16, they have a better program.
They received an auto bid from a terrible conference and parlayed it into tremendous success. Their coach may be incredible, but nobody knows if he can handle a bigger school, which more closely resembles a business.

In a one off game, clearly they can. If possible, I would bet you any amount of money that if they played UK 50 times, that would be the only win. Yes, they won the one that "counts."

I'm sure their coach makes a nice salary as well

What's considered a nice salary? Our coach (BB) only made 162.5k per win this year. Good thing he didn't win 30 games or we'd be broke
