Georgia thinks they are hurting in the secondary

Aug 18, 2013, 8:34 AM

Coach Richt said that the secondary is as bad as it could be right now. They just don't have enough healthy bodies to compete in practice.

If Morris finds the real weakness in this game.... it could be lights out. Clemson will score a ton of points.

I would guess with all of the injuries and lack of personal that they will play alot of cover 3 type stuff and hope we make a mistake.

We've got a lot of injuries back their ourselves.***

If UGA can't get a pass rush, they will have to play some version of nickel and drop 6 into coverage to protect against the underneath routes...... which should open up the running game for us. Boyd may get a lot of yards.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If we can't get their offense off the field it won't matter

Aug 18, 2013, 9:20 AM

If Uga is smart they use the best strategy against us, slow it was down and chew 5 to 8 min per possession. Easier said then done but with their offense and rbs in particular the pieces are there.

That's what scares me the most

Aug 18, 2013, 9:36 AM

We could have beatin USuCk last year but we couldn't get their offense off the field long enough to get our's going. We would have a 3 and out and the next thing you know it was 8 or 9 minutes later before we got the ball even if they didn't score.

him too bad! now, a.murray, on the other hand hasn't got any escapability, so he could be in for a world of hurt.

Right now it's lookin pretty rough. The corners are fine with Dawson and Swann. No injuries there. Free safety Matthews has been held out of contact for awhile now but is back to practicing at 75%. Corey Moore's light finally came on and was set to start in place of JHC. But Moore hasn't practiced since the 7th with a sprained knee. It's looking like Moore wont play on the 31st. His replacement Fluker has been out with a back strain and illness. He should be ready by game time. The 3rd corner will either be Johnson, Wiggins or Langley.

Edit: Dawson has been limited with a sprained shoulder.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Personally I think it's going to look like 2 pasta strainers

Aug 18, 2013, 10:33 AM

for defenses out there. Tajh and Murrey's chances for heisman hopes probably won't be hurt either way, after each throws for over 300 yards. This game will have 80 points scored in it and after 4 hours later whoever has the ball last, wins. Just hope tajh hast it last. Go tigers!

Similarities to last yrs FSU game

Aug 18, 2013, 12:20 PM

fsu has/had excellent RBs last season. They were a true threat to break one on any play, very similar to this upcoming match up. The crimiNoles also had an edge on the OL just as ThUGA will on the 31st. Now EJ was "good" but it pains me to admit that lil miss erin murrie is better. Having said that, our D is much improved.

We've got some new faces in that once horrific secondary and one must figure that we're headed in the right direction. I can't be the only one with faith in BV, right. Now the loss of Mackensie, due to an injured groin, really stinks. We are all highly anxious to see him out there but sadly the 31st will not be that day. But, we go into this game with more than we had last year.

Offensively I am not the least bit concerned. Yes, AE is gone at RB but HotRod has shown plenty of flash. It's his time and I doubt he'd let TigerNation down. Plus, we have depth there. I really liked B.Ford and our injuries at TE just plain suck. Dang I wanted to see Leggett out there but injuries happen. Fear not as we'll be just fine. We're loaded at WR. You knew that. ThUGA not so much in the secondary. This is the biggest advantage I can see and where they differ from Panhandle St. We did that, on the road, and against a great secondary. Look for #10 and crew to have an air raid.

Having said that, there is simply no comparing that great fswho D to puppydog u. Fsu clearly wins that. My point is look for a similar game and give the nod to the home team. Pay no attention to corso and crew when they select the other team.

i can see that. although, errin is a better arm, i'm not

Aug 18, 2013, 12:31 PM

sure he's the better qb. ej had some wheels, which makes it a little tougher to defend, giving you the 2nd or 3rd option out of the backfield (depending on how you set), i'm also not convinced fsu's wr's aren't better than uga's. home field is gonna be huge for us, and i still agree with solos, i, too, say we win by 10+.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: i can see that. although, errin is a better arm, i'm not

Aug 18, 2013, 1:13 PM

I concur that FSU had better wrs.

I agree that ej added that element. But I watched ej sail many fbs that Tajh or erin would make.

But wouldn't you agree that there are similarities, even with the less than serviceable d that thuga will be overtouting.

As I said, edge goes to us. I'm going to stick with 49-37.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

i sure wouldn't bet against that type of score !

Aug 18, 2013, 1:20 PM

but i hope our d can hold'em to less than 30. that is just me hoping that our d has improved/upgraded as much as i think (hope) they have. i don't have nothing concrete to put this feeling on, i just think we will be pleasantly surprised.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: i sure wouldn't bet against that type of score !

Aug 18, 2013, 1:41 PM

Tell you what, sub 30 for them is a ok with me Sgt. Our D is evolving and we know our DL can dominate as we did in the Peach B.

A our secondary did force some TOs and that continued yesterday in the scrimmage. Now, I don't study scrimmage but its a step in the right direction.
