Lazy defending the 3

Jan 22, 2019, 8:41 PM

I don't understand what they are doing, they are moving in slow motion on defense. Might as well play a 3-2 zone and play the perimeter.

They gave up 2 wide open 3s when they went zone. Should have

Amazing Philosophy by BB

Jan 22, 2019, 8:55 PM

On offense, they refuse to go inside the arc with their athleticism & jack up 3's at about 20%.
On defense, they refuse to guard anyone outside the arc and giving up about 50% to opponents.

Whoever has repeated that unfortunate rumor that BB is an "excellent X & 0 guy" is so wrong. A good coach has 2 main skills: motivate his players & adapt his philosophy to meet the skillset of his players...anyone hired at the college level knows basketball, but knowing people is just as important. IMO, Brad Brownell just doesn't relate to his guys because there is talent on our team.
