Several media outlets are reporting that Pat Narduzzi said

Dec 20, 2022, 9:36 PM

he knows of two schools that offered Drake Maye 5 million dollars. Keep in mind, Maye was never even in the portal. Even if he was this would be disgusting. The fact that he wasn't is just another indicator that college football is being absolutely ruined.

If he knows of Schools doing it he needs to report it. As far as boosters for said schools, Im not sure what can be done under the current rules or lack thereof.

Under the current rules, nothing. But you could do something under contract law. Require that all employment contracts contain a clause stating that if a coach/booster is found contacting players enrolled at another school and not in the portal, you deduct the offer (or a similar size fine) from that coach's salary. Or assess treble damages against the athletic program itself. They'd stop really quick if every case of reported tampering ended up costing their program something like $5 million.

They are going to have to change the scholarships and make

them a contract. And it the libs want to file suit that it is not fair, man up and let them do it. I mean, I live by contracts. And if I take a listing, for X percent, and I have to go show that property 200 times before some sap buys it, that is my problem. I cannot go back and tell the seller I want X plus percent. AND I CERTAINLY CANNOT CHARGE MORE IF I SELL IT FAST AND OVER ASKING.....I guarantee you there are many on here that cannot take a better job, without some kind of payout to their current employer. Heck, they can't even start their own company if it is the same line of work. Yet, school A can take a chance on a kid, feed him, train him, coach him, AND SCHOOL HIM for a year, and if he turns out to be a freshman ALL AMERICAN at little ole Indianna....he can say, screw you, I am going to OKLAHOMA.....No business model can survive by creating good products, and someone else can then take them to market.

And I am sick of hearing from all the millenials that , Player A should be able to do whatever is best for Player A and his/her family. Well sirs, they should have thought more about it before they accepted the offer. Something has to way on the scales for the Univerities,Donnors,Fans, etc. that have put all of the infrastructure in place for Player A to even have such an opportunity. If this is not curtailed, Players A, B, C etc. are gonna burn the system to the ground. JMHO.

tool or you lose ### 'members' on the team in total. Note: not schollies as the NIL could just pay instead of schollies. Let's get back to the intention of the school..... not NFL lite.

Yeah, what you're saying is essentially what they want to do in Cali. Make them an employee. I see your point but schools and education wasn't meant to be like real estate or insurance sales jobs. Not sure why you say it's a liberal or conservative issue.

Going to contracts will not make any difference......

Dec 20, 2022, 11:17 PM [ in reply to They are going to have to change the scholarships and make ]

No kid with any talent will sign a contract that would penalize him for moving on, his lawyer/agent will not allow it {once you say contract no one will negotiate without legal representation}. And there will be plenty of hungry schools offering anything the kid wants to get him signed to a contract. So you are right back where you are now.

The solution always goes back to character of the individuals involved. Kids with character, shared vision and goals of the coach/administration/parents/kids and a plan to see those goals to fruition.

If it is only about dollars the whole thing is a waste of effort and time.

Doesn’t work at all for any other professional sports

No guaranteed money then you can just leave for the next highest bidder.

Players should be able to do what’s best for themselves but the high paid ones are going to have to have contracts of some kind.

If the NCAA changes the terms of the scholarship they will have

Dec 21, 2022, 8:33 AM [ in reply to Going to contracts will not make any difference...... ]

No choice. I am not talking about an individual school. I am talking about all schools. The problem is that Bama, Georgia; OSU, Tamu, Oregon, USC,Notre Dame...thise type schools may justvsay...nah..we're good like it is..

An 18 year old can sign up for military service, and if they don't like it, or could have done better, they're stuck. A ball player needs to commit, and stay committed, or have to refund the investment that it cost the school. This stinks.

And the sign said
"Long-haired freaky people
Need not apply"
So I tucked my hair up under my hat
And I went in to ask him why
He said, "You look like a fine upstandin' young man
I think you'll do"
So I took off my hat and said, "Imagine that
Huh, me workin' for you"

Luckily we all know its not Dabo to some of our fan bases chagrin. I for one believe he is going about it the only way we can succeed. To be a different product as we for sure cant spend the money of the other factories.
