These NIL deals are taking a lot of families out of poverty.

There is literally thousands of people that are eating a good meal and sleeping under a roof tonight that wouldn't be doing either if it wasn't for NIL DEALS....
Do you remember the story of Kwity Paye who's mother and younger siblings were homeless his entire college career?
The stories of merrick, billing or Jackson?
There is thousands of these kids that have similar stories and even more so now with the pandemic and what not....
These nil deals are helping a lot of les fortunate families
So while you sit in your cozy home, pouting about nil.....
Remember there are families that have been literally saved by these deaks

That’s pretty naive. NIL “deals” benefit only really the 1-5% of super talented athletes. The rule overall does give all athletes a chance to create something while using their name, image, and likeness which is a good thing.

You are correct ClemCEO9. A lot of fans think NIL is going to benefit all players. In fact it will only benefit a select few of players on every team. From what I have read many are these kids are not buying food or supporting families. They are buying expensive cars, clothing, expensive jewelry and other things they want. Some may use NlL $$$$ to put roofs on homes or put food on the table for their families. But from what I have read many kids are going on shopping spree’s.
Some kids are doing great things with their money. People forget some of these kids are giving back to the community.
I am going wait to see just how NlL affects players of the future. I do feel if players are making a certain amount of money they should pay their own college tuition. Then scholarship’s can be given to those truly in need of financial help so they can better themselves and their families.

Really?? Thousands? Can you give me a list of 20ppl that NIL took their families out of poverty.
People act like college football players are starving kids that get taken out of the doldrums of homelessness and the NIL is a savior. People are so naive about what really happens in HS and college. A lot of 4* and 5* HS football players are given money and often recruited to bigger schools. Our good ball players in the Charleston area are very much recruited to bigger schools and they often drive nicer cars than I own. Very few of them are living in poverty.
Yes, there are kids that may be in a family where parents are drug addict's, father is in prison, and they live in horrible family homes with multiple siblings not being given a perfect upbringing. But those are much more a rarity nowadays.
Then as a college player, these kids are given a nice place to live, give great healthcare, given opportunities to get great educations, have nutritionist giving them all the food they need. This is all paid for by the school. Then if they want to live off campus after freshman year, players at Clemson are given almost $1600 a month, then figure 4 players live in an apartment and split the $1600 rent between all their allowances and they make $1000+ per month off housing allowance. Now add in all their food, clothes housing etc, etc paid for plus a monthly stipend of around $400-500 added to their housing allowance. These kids have all expenses paid plus a free $1500+ a month in their pocket. Pretty sure they are struggling. Many people would love to have all expenses paid, doing what they love, and get untaxed cash monthly.
I don't see kids struggling to survive in college sports, and the 2% of the players that get NIL money is not saving lives of homeless kids.
Only thing NIL is doing is killing the sport as we knew it. I'm all for kids making money off their values but I am not for the corruption that has become the new topic of the recruiting world.

The same people who equate college athletics to the slave trade are now claiming the miniscule percent who are making good money from NIL are suddenly being lifted out of poverty by the thousands. Argue with them if you want but they are clearly delusional morons.

That is ridiculous. How do you know how wide spread Nil is? You don’t. You have no evidence of your statements. I would guess it is but a few high profile guys getting all the nil. They were going to get rich in the NFL anyway. The average kid is getting nothing.

Do you know what has actually lifted tens of thousands of young poor athletes out of poverty? Thats right, a free college education. The same free college education that morons seem to hold no value in whatsoever. They'd rather these kids jump from school to school and never even sniff a degree all to get some playing time that may lead 1% of them to actually getting paid to play a game for a living. The other 99% are going to be less likely to graduate and will end up worse off than before. Of course this crowd will then blame literally everyone in society other than the players and their enablers for their new express ticket to a lifetime of poverty.
