There's no doubt Dabo is the greatest coach in Clemson

Nov 29, 2022, 3:38 PM

history, ACC history and a Hall of Fame Coach. I think that's why it is so frustrating to grasp that he has just put everything on and doubled down on a QB that is obviously not coming around. And has done so at the expense of possibly losing a future star qb. Two years of misery on offense has wasted a national championship caliber defense (2021) and a defense good enough to go 11-1 and continue the streak vs South Carolina (2022). We were being talked about as an offense that no longer was what it had been, then the talk became that we had no identity or imagination any longer. Now it is talked about as just a plain bad offense that doesn't challenge defenses, or stress any opponent. Soon, possibly very soon, the fallout will be the inability to recruit receivers and qbs.

Clemson football offense has become hard to watch. Fans of other school, that don't even care about Clemson ask me how I can stand to struggle with every offensive play. Watching Clemson football offense in now like watching Clemson basketball. That is no exaggeration.

I really hope one of the following happens:

1. Dabo and staff asks DJ if he would like to try moving to tight end. He has the frame for it and might be pretty good at it. His future prospects in the NFL might be better at that position. Heck, we moved Patrick Sapp from qb to linebacker. Cade starter and Vizinna as backup. If DJ does not like that move and says I'd rather go to the portal than do that, then go. It will be best for both parties.

2. Cade beats out DJ for the starting job in the Spring. I know he can't be worse at the position than DJ. If he is, then we need to be able to find out.

3. Bring Chad Morris and Jeff Scott back. Make Morris and Streeter co-offensive coordinators and make Scott assistant head coach and in charge of recruiting.

It is likely that none of the above will happen. If DJ is the starter again next August, then we will be very lucky to win ten games.

I'd say worse

We're an undefeated team right now with Cole Stoudt. Or at the very minimum 11-1 with a win over the coots.

I'll ask again. Has it been verified that DJ is coming back next year ?
