winning player of the year. UCLA just crashed out in their regional. The hitter for Florida has marginally better hitting stats than Cagle, but it's very slight and of course she does not pitch and Florida could be eliminated soon as well.

Cagle should easily win the award,

She is a Clemson athlete so she will probably get passed over even though she deserves it. They don't like to reward great Clemson athletes for some reason.

Clemson softball seems to be well-liked nationally by national softball pundits from what I have seen. I think they liked the new program factor and want to promote the sport in a new market here. I could see that playing a factor actually.
