and future.
I've read so much criticism of Swofford and the ACC's presidents/ADs regarding expansion on here about the loser yankee schools that were added. Let's examine that:
Three great football schools were added in Miami, VT, and BC. Is there any argument regarding these three at the time they were added? I'm sure everyone with half of brain will agree with Miami and VT at the time. BC fits this category also. Their program was every bit as good as ours when they were added. They won the Atlantic in 07 and 08, and won 8 consecutive bowls from 2000 to 2007. Our rivalry with them has been tremendous, but has become mostly one-sided in recent years, though they gave us fits last year.
Syracuse was first and foremost a basketball school, but their football program wasn't much behind us when they were added, and they had crushed us in the 1996 Gator.
So, let's stop with the stupid revisionist history that isn't made up of any facts, just wishful thinking for the most part.

90% of Tnetters weren't even born when Pitt, Syracuse and the U were actually relevant.
Maybe you're just old?

Just kidding...I am old like him...and AGREE with him. How relevant were our Tigers in the mid-2000s? One of the beautiful things about sports is that contenders appear, fade, and reappear.

Many people here just like to criticize anything ACC, anything NCAA, and anything northern. It's sad.
There is no denying that Miami, VT, BC, and Syracuse were good additions to the conference. Pitt was as well. Swofford should be given credit for getting those schools into the ACC. Our conference is stronger and better as a result.
Despite the criticisms on here, the ACC isn't light years behind the SEC. Those who view the SEC with such admiration and act like every SEC game is a heavyweight fight are forgetting some key details. First, for every Alabama vs. Georgia matchup, there are plenty of Arkansas vs. Vanderbilt and Mississippi State vs. Kentucky football games. Second, although some of its schools certainly have great traditions with rabid fans and big stadiums, there are plenty of schools with crappy stadiums and awful fans. Plus, cheating is rampant in the SEC, and at some schools, going to class is optional. No thanks.
This fear that the SEC is going to create a perfect conference and Clemson is going to be left out is silly. Yes, Clemson needs to be proactive, but I don't see any reason why we should be concerned that the ACC isn't going to do its best to elevate the conference. Our ACC membership has been great for us, and certainly hasn't hurt us during the last six years in football. We'll be fine. And if Clemson's leaders feel that a conference change is in order, we are in a great position to join another one if need be. We have a top football team, an NCAA Tournament basketball team, many other good sports, and good academics. We would have our pick of other conferences to join, including the SEC.

Most “morans” as you call them don’t have a problem with VT, Miami, BC, and Syracuse joining. They have a problem with Swofford screwing up the whole Notre Dame thing last year. If the ACC had gotten ND to be 100% on board with the conference, the ACC would be in a lot better position to compete with the SEC. Swofford and officials have been trying to play catch up with the SEC for years (ACC Network contract, for example). Now, the SEC holds all the cards, the ACC is scrambling trying to find a semi-decent team to join in order to somewhat stay competitive. And Pitt, Syracuse, and Miami being good 20-30 years ago, really doesn’t help the ACC at all in the present day….I remember a time when the Coots were somewhat good too.

of what the majority of ACC Presidents/ADs want.
Morans on here blame him for everything and most of that (him having the power to do it) is just myth, be it scheduling, officiating, or whatever.
It was a great move bringing ND in for one year (once again not Swofford, but ACC Presidents/ADs). Tell me how that got screwed up. If ND wants to join for football, they will. If they don't, they weren't going to join FT just to join for 2020.
The SEC/Big Ten hold all the cards because of having large state universities for the most part with huge almuni bases which leads to huge TV revenues. The ACC is 5 private schools and smaller state universities for the most part.
I know Swofford catches a lot of criticism on here but most of the reasons for screwing Clemson are just myth. This is what happens though when a Commish is hired and is an alumni of one of the ACC schools. It shouldn't be done.
Think for yourself.

I do think for myself and just because my opinion may differ from yours, doesn’t mean I’m an moron. Don’t believe this is all on Swofford, but he sure hasn’t helped the conference and advanced it has he? Especially in football, it’s been all on Clemson.
Tell your BFF in Greensboro I said hello and Go Tigers!
