The vision of doing things differently

Dec 7, 2021, 11:13 AM

has always been what has separated Dabo from the rest of college football. Faith, people, family, culture, continuity, loyalty, traits sorely lacking in our world today. These principles will define how Dabo moves through these transitions. He won't big game hunt unless that person exhibits those traits. He will not compromise for a big splash mercenary. His model is in stark contrast to most models, including Saban's, but it is built on a foundation that is meant to last. He believes if we focus on character, and us, not me and personal advancement, rewards eventually come. Venables is exhibit A. He will always be Clemson family even in a new dream job. So will Jeff Scott, as will Tony Elliott.

This model has worked brilliantly, and it will continue to do so. You cannot buy character. It is molded and nurtured, an expectation. And it will always be questioned by those who lack understanding of how crucial it really is

^ This

First you have to build through character, hard work and commitment, then the winning follows. Because if those qualities are missing, one fades into oblivion.

100% correct, once saban leaves bama is done. Dabo built this program on solid ground, no matter what the talking heads say we aren’t going anywhere

No coincidence that Dabo has won 80.5% of his games, the highest winning percentage of any active major college coach. He knows what he is doing, and his proven formula works. He'll get us past this little bump.

Saban is second at 80.0%, and no other major coaches are close.

Thank you!!

I see all sorts of silly names posted for who might be out next DC (or OC -- you wouldn't know we still have one if all you read are TNet boards). Just random, crazy names from random, crazy places.

The days are gone when Clemson has to beg "whoever" to come here just because they have a decent track record at some random program, and we're simply relieved to have someone -- anyone. The things mentioned in your post are exactly what Dabo looks for in his staff. It worked out pretty well with Brent Venables, Jeff Scott, and -- yes -- Tony Elliot.

So let' stop with the silly, reactive, names being proposed. I have confidence that Dabo's next decisions will set us up for continued success, long-term. If not, I'm wrong and I'll own it.

But my money is on our coach.

Sadly, unless Jeff Scott can manufacture an amazing

turnaround next season at USF, that branch of Dabo's Coaching Tree is very likely to get sawed off. :(

Striperfan, I don’t know who you are but you separate yourself on this board on almost every post you make. There are so many immature post on this board that do not have factual information but claim they do. They bait you into clicking on their immature rubbish. Thanks for being genuine and honest in all your post.
