Elliott says depth chart questions likely to last into fall camp

The Clemson offense entered the spring with question marks about who would step up and start at quarterback, running back, center and tight end. As spring camp comes to a close, the questions and two of those positions haven’t been answered and likely won’t be until fall camp. Full Story »

Re: The Tigers don't need a QB

to be a Heisman Candidate ( mainly because we know how that would turn out ), doesn't need to be a superstar, doesn't need to put everything on his shoulders. The Tigers just need a "Field General" that does nothing to lose a game for you. Just be steady, be consistent and be efficient running the offense. There are plenty of "Superstars" all over the team and they need to show up every game as a team player. The bar has been set, the standard is in place, the goal is still the same. Don't be the excuse.

Re: The Tigers Need a Playmaker!

Field generals are normally too unskilled to bring a team thru to victory in a hard fought game. Watson showed us what is possible when a quarterback has the knowledge of a defense and the gut to get it done... To me that is what our next quarterback will need. Watson had talent around him, but HE had to pull it out when the times were the most difficult. On the other hand, Shoudt acted as a field general in his last season's bowl and did it very well because he KNEW how to play to the team's strengths. Give me a playmaker over a general anytime.
