that was ranked in the 70th percentile, we would probably be a 1-loss team with a Top 10 ranking. But given that our 117th - ranked offense is a steaming pile of dung, he's right that the stink follows him around.
His stubborn insistence to keep trying that same thing over and over and over and over again with the same, crappy result, speaks volumes about where we are as a program.
And obviously I'm on target given the reaction of some sunshine pumpers, LOL

I think you should give Dabo a call and tell him exactly what he should do to fix everything since he has no success at building a powerhouse program or a Championship team. Please share your vast wisdom.

And stubborn people like you that stick their heads in the sand and fail to see that we were inexperienced on offense and add injury after injury has us in a bind. Dabo cannot change injuries no matter how good a coach he is.

I don't disagree that Clemson's COVID protocol has put us in a bind, but our refusal to take bigger numbers in recruiting puts us in the position we're in. The problems are MUCH deeper than COVID/injuries. If you can't see that we're way too thin on O Line and skill positions, then the answer is you don't want to see it.

it's a storm of a lot of issues this year.
Yes, injuries have contributed, but we sucked before the injuries. On the "inexperienced front"......that holds a little water in places, but even with youth CLEMSON (with their talent) should still be beating (if not destroying) teams like GT, Cuse, Pitt, NCstate, BC, etc.....
There are deeper rooted issues that are plaguing this team that can be fixed by Dabo, but the question is if he's willing to swallow his pride and make the "tweaks" in the program that need to be made in order for Clemson be sustain success in this EVER CHANGING College Football Landscape. He can NOT continue to be a "get off my lawn" guy or "we've won like this in the past so why change".............Dabo HAS TO ADAPT or we WILL get left behind.
We'll see what changes he makes after the season and then we'll have a better idea of where we're headed............but I assure you that it's not JUST DJ, WRs, youth, & injuries.........you can see the cracks going back to 2019..........Dabo just needs to make the right calls to "right the ship"

who can't even run the basics of our offense, what exactly do you suggest he change to, in season, that they can grasp?
If there were a fix to our issues, they would have implemented it. You can't fix personnel in season. Our OL is decimated, our WR have been decimated and underperformed, our QB has been bad and his backup isnt any better.
Call Dabo stubborn all you want but he isn't stupid. He wants to win. But our issues are issues that really cannot be addressed until the off season other than through improvement in the basics, which is exactly what the coaches have been saying.
If we had done those basics, we'd be in that percentile mentioned by the OP.

OP is dead on with Dabo’s stubbornness. As far as coaching changes, we won’t really know until the end of the season. But Dabo continues to dig into his positions on offers, class sizes, transfer portal, promoting from within, and giving out ungodly numbers of scholarships to walk ons.
There was a time when Dabo was an innovator in college football even to the point of a #### slide. However, as of late in his actions and comments he is a man that has arrived and it’s his way or the highway.
I trust and hope that Dabo still wants what’s best for Clemson. I will reserve my judgement on Dabo and his mentality until the off-season. If at that time we see the same stubborn Dabo, the best has come and the rest will follow.

I'm not advocating mid-season coaching changes, that's idiotic. But we need the old, ruthless Dabo back that made the necessary changes after the WV game. Those are the types of changes that are needed on the offensive side of the ball.

Yeah, but Dabo isn't knee-jerk. He does not make those mid-season moves. Even post WV, it wasn't reactionary. First, no matter how much prep, he could not deal with CPJ's option. He could/would completely blow the scheme and fail to adapt. Seen the 2-4 slide at the end of 2011. Even at Baylor, he struggled keeping his players active when things were "rough". They would shut down. You could see the strife sometimes internally.
Next, who are you going to can on the offensive side? TE? Still one of the best offensive guys out there... period. Give him the *right* tools and he is about as lethal as they come. I don't think we have the right tools for him this year. I doubt ANY option available would be a potential down/side grade. Anyone claiming TE should have gone better have also made an argument for canning BV last season. Otherwise consistency here is missed. Next, are you going to dismiss Streeter? Tyler Grisham? At what point? I don't see the improvements here.

I can't say that I "trust" that Dabo will change, but I definitely HOPE he will.
they've made comments like "We've always done it this way and we've won 2 national titles"............problem is the CFB landscape has been completely turned on it's head since 2018 w/ portal, free transfer, NIL, etc.........Oversigning which is something that Dabo admirably did NOT do at one time is now something that is a MUST now.
I think he's smart enough to know ALL OF THIS, but I'm not convinced that his stubbornness will allow him to "change his tune" on ALL OF THIS.

Why not start Taisun? The OP is right. DJ is just not ready for the big time. Its been 7 games and his QBR is last in all of college football. If Taisun is just an average qb our 3rd down percentage goes up, drives end in FGs, Maybe TDs.

Not just dabo but the whole staff thank you for your insight chickenfeed. The problem is there’s no football acumen on this staff that won only 6 consecutive conference titles and went to 6 straight national playoffs. Shame on them.

This could be the biggest coaching fail I can remember. There is time to get better but if it stays the same for 5 more games . Dabo needs to do some deep soul searching.
