The students deserve a better basketball program

They pay all that money to go to school at Clemson and the people in charge of that money aren't competent enough to keep the coach that built the most consistent program ever and to make it worse went out and hired a coach that runs a completely different style which has set our program back years.

Have you noticed what a fine job OP has done at DePaul? Brownell is a terrific coach. Get on board or go study. We don't need you.

Purnell is killing at DePaul! Oh wait...

Purnell slacked off and bombed on recruiting his last few years.

He left Brownell with Stitt and a cast for one year then a cupboard of an incompetent Booker and Jennings.

In the same tenure, Brownell has done more at Clemson in a much harder conference than OP has in DePaul.

Wasn't Purnell's fault Booker and Jennings didn't turn out...

the way they were expected too. Purnell did a great job here, and we should be thankful for that. The difference between Purnell and Brownell is the fan attendance at games. If Brownell had more fan support we would probably be winning those 3-4 games we need to win to get into the NCAA tournament.

WHO CARE WHAT OP's DOING AT DEPAUL? HE WON AT CLEMSON.

And as for his recruiting "slacking off" as you say, his last class that he left Brownell with was the best ever at Clemson. A five star, 2 4 stars and a 3 star.

Oliver Purnell had good teams that under-performed in tournaments. Shaka Smart (now at VCU) recruited those players. When SS left OP knew his time at CU was short.

Yes and I also noticed the fine job OP did at Clemson, which is all that matters.

The students' support sucks and so does your logic.

pride in their University, and come out and support a team which is about 3-4 wins away from an NCAA tournament. Also, the students worship Prez Barker who started this athletics vs academics mumbo jumbo that recent and current students buy into. Maybe if Prez Barker and his stuttering fundraiser AD, would have put more effort into Clemson excelling in athletics we would have better results, instead of having to climb out of a hole in numerous sports over the past few years.

The students don't deserve squat. They haven't done anything and are there by the grace of those that preceded them. I graduated from Clemson and attended all home basketball when I was there. The attendance by the students now is disappointing and at times embarrassing.

If you are so smart name the coach you are talking about and back it up with facts like wins, rankings, tournament appearances and tournament wins vs. Brownell and others.

Because you pay tuition? You think some schools are free?

What kind of retarded logic is that? EVERYONE pays tuition? How exactly can that always buy championships?

That spoiled attitude isn't really a good advertisement for capitalism.

Insulation from suffering and excess of wealth will make every generation more and more entitled and whiney and weak until the whole thing collapses.
