Attended the ND game last night....

and when my wife and I went through the metal detector and as we were putting on our masks the staffer guy said "Wearing masks is discretionary".
Did he assume we really didn't want to wear them or was it because we were only one of 12 people wearing masks?
Once seated (still masked) an unmasked couple found their seats next to us and the husband said, "If our not wearing a mask makes you feel uncomfortable, we'll put ours on".
"That's not necessary," I replied.
It was a nice gesture by this man. Something I will pass forward.

The CDC did not say that a “cotton” or cloth mask does nothing to prevent the spread. Here’s the CDC’s summary of their current guidance, if you would like to check it out:

By August the media will be reminding people how it was the GOP that mandated vaccination or else lose your job. And everyone must wear three masks, especially elementary school-age children.

I didn't anyone listened to anything the CDC or Fauci had to say. I do know this, I have had 2 physicians tell me they only had 1 case of flu each last year. So do what you want with your mask but I will continue to wear mine when appropriate. They might not help with Covid (who actually knows) but they sure as h*** help with other viruses and that is factual.

in the car from stores. I have not had COVID or a cold in three years now. Usually, I have a cold or two every year, and they are bad for me. They turn into a TERRIBLE cough that takes me weeks to get rid of.

off of the front end of a bass boat....But,I should have said hand sanitizer. I have been using it pretty regularly. I mean, one day last week I saw the guy in front of me at the self check out lane in Walmart, lick his fingers every time he pulled a new plastic bag out to put groceries in. And I just thought, well , he has no respect for leaving HIS germs all over the place for others, AND THEN I THOUGHT...and the idiot doesn't even realize he is putting every body else's germis right in his mouth....

persistent cough every deer season and it was very much a problem - one cough and no deer for at least an hour if you don't cough again in that hour. Since I started on a C-Pap machine at night 8 years ago I haven't had even one cold or cough and the TV folks claim that the machine is a brewing ground for germs & viruses unless you use the So-Clean device every day. And I am not about to admit how long I go between even thinking about cleaning mine.

I turned left onto highwy 8 off of St. Paul, and I went about 100 yeards and saw a hearse followed by two black limos and a line of cars at the stop sign of Three and Twenty road and highway 8. I stopped for them and the oncoming car facing me did so as well. It took at little while for all the cars to pull out and go past us heading towards Easley. The line of cars behind me and the car in the other lane facing me, began to pile up. But....I did not hear one horn blow in protest. I was proud to be a Southerner! It doesn't cost a dime to be nice and show respect. Not one dime.

But it was totally a foolish thing. I would find other ways to be nice to my neighbors, rather than depriving myself of breathing for no scientific reason.

My daughter works in ICU in a hospital and you are so right. A very high percentage of the patients in ICU and PCU (progressive care) are unvaccinated. Most are middle-aged or older but they also have much younger patients sometimes too and some of the young ones have died.

My favorite observation of mask hysteria was seeing 2 people going about 80 on the interstate on a motorcycle without helmets. But both had their masks on.

In the first few months of Covid Fauci, the Surgeon general, and the CDC were saying do not buy maskst they offer no protection. Were they liars or did not know better or were they telling the truth? I do know that people who have been vaccinated have caught the virus. I am one of them. I also know that very few unvaccinated, if any, have caught the virus twice. I believe natural herd immunity has done more to bring the virus under control than anything.
