but I just watched Butler de-throne number one Indiana with white 3 point shooters who probably can't dunk. Seven-foot players were only a support factor in this game - it was all about players who could shoot three's and FT's.
Can't we recruit any of these?

Ever since coach Purnell came to Clemson, the goal has been to recruit "athletes" and guys that can "jump out of the gym", but not necessarily guys that can put the ball in the basket. Clemson hasn't signed a white guy in 5 years.

The one white boy we had under Purnell everybody on here dogged the kid and he could fill it up when the bro's wasn't jeaslous

the next level, that is a team that regularly competes for the ACC Championship and regularly advances past the first or second round in the NCAA tournament.
I like coach Brownell a lot, and I'm hoping that some of the players we have now will miraculously develop into good shooters. Either way, our main focus in recruiting should be to get guys who can shoot the #### ball. To not make that a priority because "Clemson just can't attract that kind of player" is pretty much giving up on basketball; I think Clemson is better than that, and I don't believe it anyway.

a school like Butler is in the midwest, and more specifically, Indiana, which east;drinks;sleeps basketball. Kids grow up there shooting hoops in diapers. the southeast produces far more athletes who need their skills refined, and loses a lot of those athletes to football which is king here. Hopefully, over time, Brownell opens some inroads to midwest recruiting, something we have rarely done. Filer was a start this year. You look at a team like Wisconsin and even their big men are great shooters, but they are also from places like Minnesota and Wisconsin. Differing cultures regarding athletics contributes to this.

T.O. was pretty unreal, but we should always have multiple guys who are good shooters, even if not quite in the same class as T.O.; just guys who can and will hit 3s and FTs with regularity.

He might be a pretty good shooter but if he was one of the best I think he wouldn't be a 3 star and other big schools would be all over him
