4 minutes left, you have the ball near midfield, game against rival and BCS bid on the line, down by 2 scores, and it's 3rd and 7. Playing at home, and you have not been able to stop the other team all night.
Is this 2 down territory for you? We all agreed "yes"!!!
Would Spurrier have punted? We all agreed "no"!!!!
That punt represented a white flag and an effort to keep the final score closer. A very "chicken #####" move in my book. Very disappointed in that decision and changed my view of Dabo as a competitor.

2 down territory with a 3rd and 7?
I think what you meant was 4 down territory with a 4th and 16. I don't think that's a no brainier to go for it when you are on your own 25.

case in point - Spurrier went for it on 4th and 11 at the 40 yd line and we were down by 3 pts and made it, granted it was via a questionable pass inteference call but he went for it. Difference in coaches and confidence, plus Spurrier could care less what SO Car fans think, he knows who he is.

Didn't we have a 4th and 19 or something there? I think he felt like if he could just get a stop with all 3 timeouts, score and kick the on-side kick, we had a chance. 4th and 19 is tough to get.

I don't remember the yardage markers exactly, but we felt the 3rd and 7 should have been treated as 2-down territory and not simply try to throw the ball down-field just to allow Clowney to blitz.

19 yards is tough to get on any down, unless you have a slow #### white QB who's running against our defense. Sorry, just have to laugh at one of the many plays that cost us the game.

You are SO Right!!! That punt was stupid and nothing more than tucking our tails between our legs! The same as Kobe Bryant walking off the court with 10 seconds left!
