I love how the perception on here is if a kid enters the Portal from another school

They either suck or are a behavior problem and therefore can't help us. Newsflash, we have a ton of roster problems right now and could absolutely use the help next year. All the top programs use the portal, and yet somehow these sucky players end up starting at places like Bama, UGA, LSU, OSU....

A) It's not true; folks on here turn into ravenous wolves when they hear a kid enters the portal, especially this year. They start raising plane ticket money for Pearman to go deliver a plate of cookies.
B) Why are you implying that sharing the views of our two-time championship winning coach is a bad thing?

Maybe the perception comes from watching what happens to Clemson players who choose the portal and then never make any impact for the remainder of their career.
The list of players leaving Clemson to find success elsewhere is quite short.
Tops on the list at the moment would be a tough battle between Zerrick Cooper enjoying a productive career at an FCS school and beating FSU this season and Chase Brice having Jekyll and Hyde results between Duke and App State.
These 2 gentlemen have surpassed our previous bar setter in Kelly Bryant who beat the coots while at Mizzou and did nothing else. Overall I wouldn't consider his move a success.

I’m on your side of this discussion but in fairness Chez Melusi is doing pretty good at Wisconsin. And that also reinforces our point that the guys hitting the portal are doing so to get playing time somewhere else because there are other guys ahead of them at Clemson.

I checked the stats and he is having a decent year.
He definitely found volume with his transfer.

Lot of recruiting misses on the OL, WR, and more importantly QB. DE outside of Murphy is also questionable.

WR and DE is littered with 4* and above talent so ### are you talking about? The issue on the OL is more depth then talent as our last couple of classes have high end talent.
BTW most folks in the portal transfer to get more playing time. Its hard to do which is why Ohio St Bama (as Clemson would) have so few transfers on their roster

We currently have 4 OL out for the year with injuuries. 3 of them were out before they got to make any impact on the season. The fourth was our only senior in the group.
We have 1 WR who hasn't even practiced. We have 2 others who have only played in a few games, one of which is now out for the season with injury. We have another WR who appears to not be sure if he is healthy enough to play also.
Recruiting misses though right?

A majority of the players in the portal could not play at Clemson. Many are problem children and others over value their talent. This is why i dont understand the infatuation some of our fans have with the portal. Seems you want Dabo to do it because everybody else is doing it but Dabo made us elite for the first time in our history by not following the same path as everyone else
