The only way the SEC gets 2 teams in the playoff

Oct 22, 2017, 10:14 AM

Would be if Auburn wins out but loses to Georgia in the SEC Championship which would make Georgia a 12-1 conference champion and Bama at 11-1 Would get in on reputation alone.

No conference will get two teams into this playoff . There are going to be too many factors to overcome , and there are too many valid teams in the other Power5 conferences to have any of the other 4 ( and/or any eligible independent named ND ) left out of the 4 team playoff .
Not sure why people keep this thing alive ... ain't gonna happen .

If UGA and Bama are undefeated and UGA beats Bama by a field goal do you really think they leave Bama out??

I think UGa has about as much chance at beating Alabama as the Coots had of beating Camburn in 2010 .
Probably get around the same score , too .

Dug I don't think Georgia would beat Bama either but that wasn't my scenario, I still say if Clemson wins out we are in anyway.

I think UGAs D can shut Bama down. They question will be if UG a can run on Bama because I don't think their QB can win it throwing. Bama will go all out to stop the run. I think it would be low scoring though. UGA is good and has the talent to match up as well as any team.

Absolutely. That scenario is essentially a five team playoff, the winner of Bama UGA advances and the loser doesn't.

The only way they or any conference gets 2 in is if there’s total chaos. Like 2 loss ACC, PAC 12, B1G, and Big 12 champs or at least 3 of the 4...and ND drops a 2nd game. Then the committee would almost be forced to let in the loser of the SEC championship game, but only if the game was really close and that’s the only loss of the season for that team.

Otherwise it’s not happening...Bama included.

even if Georgia wins, remember Ohio State last year? Alabama would get in and UGA would be left out.

Not the same at all, if UGA is undefeated or has 1 loss even. PSU has 2 losses last year as B1G champ. That’s why they were left out.

No way Bama is left out...unless they lose a regular conference game in addition to UGA...to say they will be left out by having a loss to UGA is like saying UNC will get probation for phoney classes...wont happen

If Auburn wins out, Bama will not be a conference champ and will have 0 or 1 top-25 wins (LSU). That ain't getting in.
