Pursued and “to Auburn” are different things but good luck to them. Buckner is a great coach.

Ping me when the headline is "Buckner signs K to coach at Auburn". Good on'em if they can pull it off. Buck is great. I am beyond perfectly happy with Nick Eason. On a final note, Christian Wilkins would be a great successor to Nick in about 10+ years .

That doesn’t make a lot of sense. If he wanted to coach college ball you would think Clemson would be his first choice.

Sounds like an agent floating his name around in hopes of getting him a raise from the Cardinals.

I don’t think Buckner has his degree, therefore he would not be eligible for hire at Clemson. Correct?

The next time academic requirements are a consideration...

at Auburn will be the first time.
That said, Buckner earned his degree from Clemson in English in 1994.

I doubt very seriously if Buckner would go To AUBURN. Doesn’t his son play for Oregon? Heard he wanted to stay on the West Coast to be near his son and be able to watch him play when possible. If he HAPPENED to have turned down Clemson, it would be that reason. Like it was said before, his Agent is probably floating his name around to get more $$$$$. Auburn wishes they could get him. They are just butt-hurt for loosing Eason. I have a Auburn friend who is VERY P####D about it. Cannot fathom WHY Eason would leave them for a lowly ACC team who is on the way down. Seems like the common excuse about the REAL TIGERS!!!!!!!

perhaps someone should explain to those dolts that Clemson and Auburn have played five times over the last twelve years and Clemson has won four of those games. The one exception is the 2010 game at Auburn when they were paying Scam Newton and one of their defenders speared the Clemson QB breaking his ribs.
During that time span, Clemson has made six CFP appearances, played for four national championships, winning two of them, while Auburn has done...well...nothing other than burn through three head coaches, become a middling program in search of relevance, and go 2 - 6 in a bunch of meaningless insignificant bowl games.

I don’t think they even flagged him - out of bounds, leading with the crown, etc. We thoroughly outplayed them…

Right! That being said one of the hardest hitting games I have ever seen. Wood was being laid on both sides that night.

About 20-30 minutes from Auburn. Makes sense logistically if he wanted to be closer to home.
