The leader of the Mahaffey brothers has died.

I did not get to see him play, only his youngest brother. These gentlemen need to be remembered as playing in old Fike Field House. Believe that place was as threatening as Cameron ever tried to be.

Sounds like an incredible man

I remember see all four play in the Cow Palace at Clemson. When we were kids growing up in Tiger Town, we would head down to Fike for a Sunday game of round only to get run out of the gym by some of the basketball player that were their for summer school.

get to see Randy and Richie play while I was there- had at least one class with Richie our freshman year. I remember sitting on the steps outside of our Chemistry building throwing some kind of berries into a trash can and he told me “ You ain’t nothing but good “ - I couldn’t shoot a basketball though.

Randy was the star basketball player when I was at Clemson. He was a good student also. I'll never forget walking to an 8 o'clock class on a cold Feb morning and seeing Randy walking to his 8 o'clock class after playing the night before at Duke.

Growing up in upstate NY - even I remember the Mahaffey boys. I came to Clemson in '72 and played intramural and pick-up games in Fike. One day I had checked out a basket ball and let the guys I was playing with to turn it in... and they didn't (imagine that.) A couple days later a guy met me as I checked in and I had to go to this guy's office and pay 20$ for the lost ball. That guy was the AD named Banks McFadden... 20 bucks was a lot of money back then, but one of my greatest memories.

Go Tigers!!!

I can't tell by these posts which one died, but the first one I saw was Donnie, and then Randy, and then I went to the Georgia state championship in Atlanta and saw Ritchie play there. One night Donnie dunked in warmup and you weren't supposed to do that but I forget the penalty...........
