The hate for Dabo is mind-bottling.

Dabo is 161-38 in 14-1/2 seasons at Clemson. That's an 81% winning percentage. Over the last 10 years, that win % goes up to 88%. 7 Conference championships. 2 national titles. 8 top 10 finishes. 6 top 5 finishes.
Now, following 5 disappointing losses over the last 2 seasons, T-Net is scattered with haters. Any comment by Dabo is met with "SMH" posts. All of a sudden, Dabo is an idiot. It's one thing to disagree, and we are all free and should be welcome to express that. I disagree, based on available information, with the way Dabo handled DJ this season. I talked about it on here. What's happening now is different; everything about Dabo is wrong. Everything he says or does is more heavily and vocally criticized. Dabo mentioned God. He talks about signing Bear Bryant's great-grandson. He doesn't like the transfer portal. He sucks.
What exactly is going on here? We will probably have another top 10 finish this year. We have a great QB coming back, we signed another top 5 QB, we have an excellent RB duo returning, a solid defense, and we should be looking at another top 10 finish or better next year. Dabo has almost single handedly built this, and spoiled us with this enviable level of success. Now we're shaking our heads out of puzzeled disappointment, or shame, or embarrassment, or disgust, with everything he says or does.
Do we have more dumb fans than I ever realized? Do that many Clemson fans not like Dabo, or not trust him? Or is it just Coots coming out of the woodwork?

Not trusting Dabo as far as where we stand and him maximizing what we are working with.

We have a really goofy fan base.
Luckily we have Dabo to keep this clown car in line. Dabo must be blown away with all he has to hear and listen to. He is one mentally strong dude. Anyway, they should just watch that Peter Woods interview and just sit back. Dabo is making the most of what we have to work with in the right way.

I love Dabo and admit I have only been a fan since my son enrolled in 2018. The only problem I have is the whole DJ/Cade decision this year. I am a lifelong college football junkie and a PSU season ticket holder in years past. Dabo is right there at the top both as a coach and a person.

Got to do things that can keep your machine winning big time championships.....and we have. Like anyone if there is something off or not running right that is keeping you down thats hard to fix....or.....easy to fix but hard to find the right things to get it fixed......you are going to complain. Especially when others else are looking like their machines are running very well and proving it.
I'm definitely going to complain if I can't get something back the way I had it ...that got me much success before. Unless you're taking years off or not all in then to a degree it really don't matter what anyone thinks .

I experienced mild frustration with Dabo’s deference to DJU… imagining Clemson without Dabo cleared that right up.
We have one of the best in the business and he has youth on his side. I hope he coaches at Clemson until he’s older than Mack Brown.

Yep, the coots whined and attacked for years saying Dabo was not a coach but a "cheerleader". They got hammered for 7 straight games and had to keep quiet. Now, they won one with their "cheerleader" coach and they are infiltrating again trying to stir the pot. It didn't help some of us, yep, including me, asked questions about coaching decisions and the flood gates opened. Lesson learned.

Because, OTOH, there are people who seems to think Dabo pees Champagne and craps chocolate ice cream.
I think the criticism of the needless public comments relating his religion to the football team are absolutely unnecessary. I also thought his failure to recognize the need to replace DJU was a bad coaching decision.
I don't hate him and don't want him to go anywhere, but I sure would like him to stop putting his foot in his mouth on matters not related to football AND I hope he doesn't make the same QB mistake that he did this year, ever again.

Remember it's easy to sit in the stands and in your easy chair and coach. None of us ever attended one practice so we only can guess how ready Cade was, Cade's own high school coach said we did the right thing by holding him long as we did. Truth is none of us know for sure so it's only opinion.
The media hates us because we are in the ACC and have beaten Alabama twice for national Championship. We are supposed to be some little school that everyone wants for homecoming. Dabo has talked about his faith forever.Probably why the networks cut off his post game networks.
As far as the NIL program, the NCAA better get a handle on it or college football is ruined.For people who claim we don't participate we sure have good recruiting classes.
Dabo said we have no roster room for the portal right now. He doesn't just kick off players. Remember, most of those in the portal are there because they can't get playing time or are in trouble.He never said he wouldn't use it.

I like Dabo. I only had one problem with him. That problem was his management of DJ. It appears he made some kind of deal with DJ that kept us out of the playoffs. I can point out what I see as a serious mistake without being a hater. Dabo is great, but in handling DJ, Dabo royally screwed up.

Most everybody agrees, including me, that CDS is the greatest coach in CU history, including CFH and CDF. Almost nobody disagrees with that. And yes, the two natty's and conference championships don't happen with out CDS. It is BECAUSE of all that success that many of us don't understand why we haven't gotten straight talk from Dabo about DJU. He pulls every other player off the field for lack of performance, so why the kid gloves with DJU?? And yes, for all the victories over the coots he's brought to CU, he prolly left one on the field this year. Closely following that is why, after all the recruiting success at the skill positions, have their been no major recruiting successes at WR and RB?
Just don't pee in our boots and tell us it's raining. Bottom line, that summarizes the current gripe with CDS.

I am an alumni and have been a Clemson fan for a long time. Dabo Swinney is the best thing that has ever happened to our university, not only for football, but in general. His prowess on the field is by far the best we have ever had, but it is the other things that make me a fan. Clemson is a squeaky clean program with the highest graduation rates we have ever known and among the highest in America. I hope the stupidity of a few fans does not make us do something really foolish.

1972 Grad and agree...ESPN can try to take us off the map but Dabo will be stuck in their craw forever which is a lot longer for some of you than it is for me! By standards on today we are a relatively small university but we maintain a position that the TAMU`s, UGA`s OSU can only dream of...those schools have to buy a kids loyalty with cash...most of those places are well stocked with athletes who care little about the student part...they are really prep schools for the NFL and little more...that will not be Dabos or Clemsons legacy!

Fear that things are going to go back to the way they were when most of the more vocal fans were growing up and becoming fans of Clemson. The fear of once again being a run of the mill mid tier ACC program going 8-4 each season. I think a lot of people are scared that it all has been a flash in the pan and now are waiting for the wheels to fall off. That’s why everyone is so critical of every decision and statement. They are afraid if Dabo says or does just the right wrong thing all the recruits and all the players will leave and it’s over. There is no faith in the program.

I have not. I will correct my friends on the improper use of phrases. Mind bottling is "failure to correct friends on improper usage of phrases or sayings." On the other hand, mind boggling means to be confused or bewildered over an event otlr concept. The latter happens to me quite often.

remember exactly who or when (it doesn't matter) improperly used the phrase "mind-bottling" when they should have used "mind-boggling". It was a long time ago, but it caught on, and it became part of the T-Net lexicon, and thus has been a running joke for years. Just like "take it with a grade of slaw" instead of "take it with a grain of salt", and many others. Sorry you missed it.

Jabbing Dabo every chance he gets.
Critical of womens softball players.
Hates on medical charities.
Pretends that finishing (before bowl game), 7th with another ACC championship and orange bowl game is severely slipping.
Who pretends that the portal would solve every issue in the world, maybe even cancer.

Clearly he does this because of the critical comments about his alter ego - Brad Brownell.

Listen..I love the dude just as much as the next person but let’s not pretend he’s not beyond reproach. He gaffed the Watson/Stoudt situation…Tried to gaff the Lawrence/Bryant dual…and obviously swing and missed completely on the Klubnik/DJ battle.
Moving Trent Simpson to MLB before realizing he was best suited at Will/Nickel..Idiotically moving Ross to the slot…all of these decision signed off by him.
This man REFUSES to use the portal for any vital upgrades and pi$$es on your faces while convincing you it’s raining. Coach Swinney is paid $10m a year to WIN football games. He has said countless of times that “the fun is in the winning”…Now the second fans, who spend their hard earned money towards the program, complain about an easy 10 win ACC season and missing the playoffs because of his decision making, you all want to throw stones.
We aren’t the cat’s meow anymore and Coach Swinney’s unwillingness to adapt to the new landscape of college football is beyond irritating. In blunt terms, we want a football coach…not a $10m a year youth pastor.
I do appreciate his faith and how he’s installed it to the program…But opponents don’t care about that on Saturdays.

Success and is the best thing to happen to Clemson football ever, his unreasonable commitment to DJU in the usuck game deserves scrutiny.
I absolutely love the guy, but cannot understand why he doesn’t have the love for CK2 that he did for DJU.
All the other noise about recruiting and the portal is fair game but is just noise until it plays out.

It's 115 million over 10 years and that's guaranteed money. Nobody on the board hates Dabo but when your average annual salary (it escalates each year) is more than most could ever dream of making in a lifetime then yes, there are expectations. Best is the standard, and his lawyers certainly did their best with this last deal. The board is for dissenting opinions and discussion about the team's performance. Just because he is arrogant and stubborn does not equate to hate. He's done a great job and I have yet to see a single post during his tenure that someone hated him.
Not that is was deserved, but there were actually idiots that threatened previous coaches (Coach Hat) with bodily harm (I have seen him threatened on the field after a win in the Valley) and openly declared that they despised them. May not have been the best fit at Clemson, but Coach Hat was a fine Christian man. Being threated over a football game is just ridiculous. That was an example of hate - no hate for Dabo.

I would suggest just take it for what it is. We have had an influx of band wagon fans hit the scene in the last 5-7 years and adversity strikes they complain. I have learned through the years that there are some miserable people in this world and I choose to ignore them. Same with politics and the adversity that sometimes comes with my faith. If you have noticed some folks you hardly hear from come out of the woodwork to complain about Dabo’s faith even though it’s nothing new. Politics the same way. I never hear from one nameless person I have chosen to ignore because it’s constant complaining concerning politics and very little to do with Clemson. Just let it go and enjoy the men and women on this board that enjoy Clemson for better and for worse.
Have I personally agreed with every coaching hire or the choices at certain positions on the field? No but last I checked Dabo is the coach and does not call me to check in about decisions regarding the program.
As a program we are not where we want to be right now but are still a very solid program that is a couple of players away from getting back into the Final 4 discussion. I for one am thankful I do not pull for SC and watching their mediocre at best program makes me more and more proud I have been a lifelong Tiger even though me attending the University did not work out for reasons I have mentioned in past post.
Rant is over for the most part there is a great core of fans on here. We don’t always agree and there is nothing wrong with that. Just show mutual respect and keep conversing.

I must have missed it. I heard some head shaking about some of Dabos recent comments but that’s not hate. When someone doesn’t agree with you it doesn’t mean they hate you and it’s bizarre some would think so. Overall Dabo is a well loved and respected coach. He has been frustrating at times with recent things like sticking with DJ etc but well loved none the less.
