2011 NCAA revenues....

May 15, 2012, 9:45 AM

....are available online now. According to these #s our athletic department had revenues of $61M and spent $58M while USuC had revenues of $83M and spent $80M. The difference is alarming to say the least. Hopefully this prompts our admin. to consider a conference change.

And you can't blam the SEC for the huge short fall. The saving grace is they have a huge debt to service and its eating up their income..

Sure they have more debt, but that debt is what they are using to finance all their new construction projects they have going on right now, the sad part is we do not generate the amount of revenue that could cover the debt they are taking on

And yet the 2 Az schools d@mn near lost money.

Some clown in another thread said travel expenses didn't matter. CU moving to the BIG 12 would be a deficit....

The difference is more than TV money

May 15, 2012, 11:17 AM

And switching to the big xii will not make us 20 million more.

tigerstyle13 is correct

Our deal with Under Armor, radio contract, and psls are all more lucrative.

BUT WHY ON EARTH WOULD WE EVER LEAVE THE ACC

May 15, 2012, 11:29 AM

WITH THOSE NUMBERS???

I want to stay in the basketball conference and make less money than our direct rival in SCAR. That would be awesome!

The difference in revenues between Clemson and So. Car. is

May 15, 2012, 5:09 PM

disturbing, to put it mildly. We cannot sustain a competetive rivalry with them over the long-term, with that differential against us. They make around $4 million more than Clemson in TV revenues. So what accounts for the remaining difference? I know that the SEC has more lucrative bowls. But it has to be more than that.

If you think that's bad...

May 15, 2012, 5:23 PM

in 2011, Texas made as much on ticket sales alone as CU did on all sport revenue!

"Stalwart universities—Harvard, Princeton, Yale—most certainly offer status. The Citadel offers character. "

Gamecock club brought in $9MM more than IPTAY. They also made more money off of ticket sales, licensing, media, etc.
