The BV Move to Okietown Makes No Sense Considering

1) Past negative history in departure from Okie
2) Family and establishing roots in Clemson area
3) Knows he has a monster Defense coming back in '22
4) '22 Offense should be much better than '21
5) Okie is in total turmoil w/Riley departure and uncertainty of commits etc.
6) Okie booster climate is toxic compared to Clemson
7) High likely hood Clemson would increase BV's compensation to the $3.0MM/year range

The question is how much would the Sooners pay a first-time head coach and for how long? and is that enough to outweigh items 1-7? Lincoln Riley was around $7.5MM/year. Would they pay $5MM+/year?

I hope and believe BV stays but gets a big $$$ boost.

That loser Brian Kelly just got 15 million a year from LSU

I don’t understand why everyone keeps bringing up #1 like that would be any way relevant to him as the HC at OK. I’m pretty sure Brent isn’t a petty little child who’s angry at all the Sooners because Bob Stoops didn’t let him run his defense. What the fudge people ?

Brian Kelly to LSU makes even less sense.

Bottom line: If they offer CBV a ridiculous salary he's probably gone.

You can rationalize the desired result in your head 100 times but it won't matter. Reality is still standing there.

CBV is making $2.5M/yr now. If OU offers him $8-$10M/yr, he would be absolutely crazy not to take it.

I for one , let me say i hope he doesn't go, but with all the chatter going on, i don't think his name would be throwed out there if there isnt something behind it, klingsbury was seemingly their first choice, he has shut down that talk, so for everyone who says brent isn't going any where, look at all the chaos this year, maybe things have changed over the years for brent to finally decide he thinks this is a opportunity he cant turn down (and i think it will be money driven), you say he's making good money now, but yes if someone offered you probably 5-10 million a year , how many would turn down, Brian Kelly and Lincoln Riley sure bolted for the money and we know brent's gonna leave if not now, at some point, MY point being WHY DO YOU THINK HE HASN'T SHUT DOWN THE RUMORS, WHY BECAUSE MORE LIKELY HE IS EITHER THEIR CHOICE AND HES TAKING IT AND JUST WAITING so he can discuss his plans with the current coaching staff at clemson, or he's still thinking about it.. my .02 worth. AGAIN, I HOPE HE DOESNT LEAVE CAUSE WITH RECRUITS ABOUT TO SIGN, IT COULD HAVE NEGATIVE IMPACT JUST LIKE THE OTHER SCHOOLS. TIME WILL TELL AND I THINK WE WILL KNOW THIS WEEK
