If there is anything I know about Clemson Football it is that the Head Coach Dabo Swinney is a man of his word. He's never lied to us as a fan base, and his decisions despite national opinions have led us to two national titles. I truly believe that if Coach Swinney stays the course and elects to die on that hill, Clemson will rise above the competition on a national level.
Coach Swinney understands the concept that player development is more profitable than instant expectations from recruiting the portal. Imagine recruiting a player from the portal and wasting hundreds of thousands of dollars for that player to be a bust. Especially, if that player was not groomed from high school to fit the mold of Clemson culture. Not only do you risk team disruption in the locker room, but you risk losing a game because some player from the portal finds a discrepancy with his NIL contract.
Coach Swinney is not against NIL, but I don't believe he is in agreement with paying a recruit based upon his high school historical performance. If anyone comes to Clemson and performs to an elite level, then they will earn a chance to receive NIL rewards. It creates an incentive to be dedicated to improving your craft. You can get rather wealthy playing for Clemson, but YOU HAVE TO EARN IT.
They type of recruit that understands that concept is the type of player we want at Clemson. We don't want spoiled entitled players that throw tantrums and act like children. We want friendly and healthy competition throughout the entire roster. That's exactly the culture that Coach Swinney is establishing at Clemson with the introduction to NIL and changes. He's merely amplifying what he's already established, and I believe in the long run, it will prove to be more profitable for Clemson.
At the end of the day, I have no reason to doubt Coach Swinney and until he proves otherwise, I will trust his leadership. After all, it hasn't failed us yet.

Clemson is set to become an annual 7-5 team for the next few years.... dabos inability to adapt and clemsons inability to adapt are hurting them greatly.

Maybe Dabo can recruit an entire class from the portal, spend $35M on a recruiting class to go 3-9 like Texas A&M did. Maybe we can have a bunch of self-centered players on the team that care only about themselves and we can strive to be 3-9. Any way you view it there's not a player in the portal that is better than any of our starters right now. Even guys that would be second string on the depth chart are demanding $350K to play for Clemson. Yet, our second string is better than him at that position. What exactly are we not adapting to? I'm waiting for the implosion to come soon, and it could be this season or next, but the implosion is coming. Lawsuits are already flying.

Might as well hold your breath...many don't believe Dabo or his program here...they think that giving a non student athlete money will make him a loyal Clemson teammate! That recruit has never been loyal to anything... ask FSU...the whole team threw back the Oranges in favor of pot and the NFL! You will never convince social lovers that education and atmosphere still count!

I believe Clemson will be playoff bound this season and many to follow. Too much talent on the roster and now we have the right position coaches. I just don't see Clemson losing a conference game this season, nor do I see Clemson losing to South Carolina. I also don't see UGA beating the spread with this defense. They may win the #### game, but it will be a low scoring game just like it was in 2021.

I totally agree with a new recruit having to earn it, and anybody who don't agree is only look for reasons to kick Dabo about the NIL!!!
