at the chemical plant. He was upset, and I asked him why. He said he had just been given a performance review, and his performance was rated as "average". His quote was:
"I been called a lot of things in my life, but average shore as heyall ain't one of them. I'm usually way the heyall off the end of the scale one way or another."
And he was right, too. I would have classified him as a redneck's redneck, at least slightly warped. He had bought a new dually Chevy pickup, a really nice one. And yet, most times, he still drove the older one he had to work. This thing was beat all to heyall, and was that ugly babyshite yellow that GM had in their arsenal for a few years. I asked him why he kept it, since he had the new one. His answer?
"That truck has a lot of sentimental value to me. Many an ole gal give all she had laying on the back seat of that truck."
Made me regret that I had just had lunch.

Makes us realize the magnitude of our task if we are to raise the IQ average on this board to anywhere approaching the average of 98. I hate to admit it but if I would resign from this board, that alone would result in a huge boost in the IQ average.

Half of all counted in any country, place room, etc would be below average.
It is like saying 50% of doctors finish in the bottom half of their class -- also true.

When I was able to move back to SC 20 years ago, looked into getting a new doctor and dentist.
I live on the Georgia border, but my thinking was the "best of the best" available would be in Clemson as those are practicing on highly educated professors, etc.
Now due to big business making it all like socialism, my doctor went very private and one has to pay a yearly retainer of $1500 to be on his client list. I presently have no doctor. A fun note is his wife (also a Doctor) who saw me a few times took a job as head of Student Health at Clemson.
