Jul 31, 2020, 12:11 PM

Do the Tigers have to play an in state school OR does the game just have to be played in the state of South Carolina?

I dont think that game even requires a team with a pulse given that the coots are the normal participants

Probably an instate school is my guess.

The +1 was in the same state

Since C00t5 have to drop Coastal we should pick them up, and they're Div.1 school as well.

The ACC has ruled we can play another in-state game.

Jul 31, 2020, 12:23 PM

It does not specify a conference.

The thing I'm interested in is - I can't imagine the SEC can disallow UofSC from playing an 11th game. I can't imagine any conference being able to regulate a school's quantity of games beyond their league, as long as it doesn't exceed NCAA regulations. As far as I know, the NCAA hasn't set a maximum number of games for this special instance.

In my humble thoughts, I would hope Clemson and UofSC thoroughly investigate and try to make this game happen.

The way that I read the new ruling was that the eleventh game had to be PLAYED in state of the conference team. So, technically the Tigers could schedule that eleventh game with a real team as long as it is played in SC.

I believe you are correct. We are the "conference" team and

the game would have to be played in Death Valley. Just so happens UofSC was schedule to be here in 2020.

The ACC has obviously already allowed it. I just can't see what the SEC could do to stop it.

that's the way it read , as long as its played in the home state of the acc school.

this is crazy. It was obviously there to allow the rivalry games. Since they are out the window as a practical matter how can they force you to schedule anyone in your state? Use the SEC cowardice to your advantage and play 10 then be fresh for the championship.

well ,I would think if its a smaller in state school. id say do not play, do not risk injury to one of the key players over a game that wont matter when it comes to the playoffs( if we make It that far), or why risk having your players getting positive covid test right before the acc championship game, id say most teams now will opt out the extra game if its not the rival game you intended. I would think since the major conferences are playing conference games only, id think the committee will only value the 10 games plus the conference championship game , will be interesting to see how many sec schools get favoritism when the polls are released. this is just my opinion and not disagreeing with anyone, I really had hoped the Carolina game was gonna be held, was looking forward to 7 in a row. plus I purchased two extra season tickets just because it was a home game this year..time will tell if fans are allowed
