is not smart.
We have a tiny recruiting class, we are thin, and we have lost people to the portal and decommits. We will struggle to keep up with top programs if we insist on avoiding the portal.

For Clemson, the portal can be valuable for depth. There were times this year when we certainly needed a few more bodies at different positions because of Covid, injuries, transfers and chateau bow wow. Guys gotten from the portal are probably not going to start, but they may be important at some point in the
season. I think, with this year's experience, Dabo will use it to some degree in the future.

get the BEST period.....from high school and the portal.

get the BEST period.....from high school and the portal.
And The RB, Walker, from WF - became a Doak Walker winner with Mich State - there are tons of good to great players in the Portal.

If Clemson plays more players than most any other team in the country in recent years, why do we have so may players entering the transfer portal?

We really don’t have many more, if any compared to other elite programs.
That being said, in prior years we played a lot. This year we did not. Lus we also kept some super seniors who buried others on the depth chart.

Most transferring to the portal want to be the prime starter, just like Dixon. He got down the chart behind others and were not get the reps. They also know with some guys coming in that they may get further behind.
It is a gamble when you enter the portal and we have to have the right fit, not just a body. With that being said, we MUST start looking at it more seriously.They will be done good ones in there but we are fighting with other schools to get them and the NIL will not help. Basically with the NIL you are in a bidding war with the BIG NAME PROGRAMS, not saying Clemson is not a BIG NAME, we are.
We all need to get behind the team and coaches because if you don’t think that the players are not reading TigerNet, THEY ARE.
So GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!
