That was not Clemsoning

Really tired of the media and Clemsoning, a lot of them are trying to say that's what happened. Clemsoning- would be BEATING FSU and then losing next week to Maryland. That is freaking Clemsoning. All of my SEC friends are trying to say the same thing as the media.

To me it is a matter of our guys playing so far below their talent level that causes a loss to an huge underdog or to a a better team in a blowout. The symptoms are the same. Results may vary.....

I'm not so sure we could have beat FSU

the way FSU played even if we didn't come out so "foggy". But to never really recover from the bad start is a psych game we have to fix. It has killed us in more than one game and is the root of whatever you want to call our problem of "Clemsoning".
We should have had at least 21 more points of the board. In that way we did beat ourselves.

This was a perfect example of "Clemsoning". The term doesn't mean losing a trap game or having a letdown after a big win. It means playing very well, winning a lot, then getting to a game on the big stage and not just losing, but losing spectacularly. I dare say that lingering in the subconscious of the talking heads who like to use the term is the WVU bowl game. *That* was the classic type of loss that led to the term "Clemsoning". We came into the game having been pretty successful, then played like we were completely unprepared--just like last night.

This was not "Clemsoning". It was not anything that should invite any long term self destructive analysis either. Less than a minute into the game F.S.U. had a turnover and 7 points. Clemson was very much in the game until the blindside hit on Boyd and the scoop and score that took it to 17 - 0. At that point the team, the fans, and everyone watching was stunned. It happens all of the time and to many other teams than just Clemson. "Big Game" plus "Lots of Hype" plus "Early Turnovers and Cheap Scores" lead to blowouts. One team becomes tentative and the other super confident and boom.
The best thing to do is forget it. Win next week. And finish the season as a 1 loss team. The way things are going that will be good enough to put you in a BCS game.

It's football. Coming back from adversity and all that.

We never did. We didn't play good football. Even if we lost a hard fought battle, playing flat the entire game offensively is just not acceptable. For me we have to dwell and criticize if we ever expect it to get FIXED.

Would you rather win last night and then lose next weekend to Maryland or lose last night and beat all the other teams we SHOULD beat.
I know your answer with be win both. But I have sat through those #### Maryland, BC, etc games after having big victories so pissed off. Nothing wrong with being 11-1. 5 out of the Top 10 teams lost this weekend and our loss was to the best team out of all of them.
I agree, that I am not sure that we beat FSU even if we didn't make all those mistakes.
