taking 9 years to squeak out a one point victory to help Dabo see he needed to make an assistant coaching change.

I don't think 500 yards is the reason to fire the OC.

Execution was the key thing for us. You can watch the plethora of redzone failures and see execution issues. Take just for instance the blown pitch by Swinney, the 3 missed FGs, and Cade's brain fart to end the half. Just get FGs on all of those and we lead at the half.
With all that said, Dabo let go of Brandon for not bringing Cade further along than he did, and Dabo is looking for a more dynamic offense. If we were going to let go of the OC, the number one guy in the business right now if Garrett Riley.
Dabo had Garrett before he let go of Streeter. If Riley says no, we likely have Streeter back.
Streeter is not a bad coach. He'll end up on his feet and is likely headed to a head coaching job within the next 5 years or so. He will need a QB coach though.
He's done well. He improved our offense significantly in his 1st year. Dabo wanted more. And we got it.
Good luck to Street. Always a Tiger.

That's exactly what I posted when it all happened, that Dabo had already talked to who would be our OC before Streeter knew he was unemployed. When Dabo fires a coach, there is someone he has already talked to about taking the job!!!

I thank them for nothing. It annoys me we lost period. It was poor on our part and should have never happened.

We lost to Carolina because Swinney, out of some kind of loyalty to DJ, would not put Cade in the game to win it.

to think that after watching Georgia dismantle TCU, Dabo may have realized going into the SC game that the team wasn't ready to be in the playoffs and more harm than good would come from winning and being in the CFP. He may have thought we were better off making changes by missing the CFP rather than getting our butts handed to us against Georgia. That image would have lasted a very long time. Instead, we get a year to regroup and develop a high powered offense. Getting blown out by Georgia could have really harmed the program longterm. Imagine if that was us instead of TCU. Perhaps missing the playoffs this year was a calculated decision. There is no logical reason we didn't win the SC game easily. All that was needed was Cade to play a few series. Whether it was calculated or not, it worked in our favor IMO.

At least this identifies the people that will never shut up about things they couldn’t possibly understand due to their ignorance. Unless Dabo goes Prince Harry on us, we will never know when he decided to make the change, nor why DJ got the benefit of doubt for so long. Deal with that fact and move on. Nobody owes you an explanation. Even back in Elliot’s days, our offense was described as basic and overly simple. We succeeded due to superior athleticism. That approach has been around since the Fun n Gun and is matchup driven. Dabo is smart and realized we needed an injection of new philosophy and approach. He apparently liked what he saw and got him. He couldn’t very well rob TCU prior to their beat down, since he is a class act. No matter how simple minded and childish you might be, that score from last year WILL NOT CHANGE. Please move on.

No doubt we won games in spite of Elliott being our OC, and IMO, Streeter done things exactly the way that Elliott done them, and neither of them gave TL16 and BV the credit they deserved for the way we won the really tough games. Trevor was such a talent at the college level, he didn't need a coach telling him what would work and what wouldn't, and I would bet that a lot of plays was TL16 improvising....

There was never a good spot to put DJ in.

We opened the game making it look like another blowout and led the entire way. The coots took the lead with 10 minutes left, by one. That wasn't the time to throw the still learning true freshman out there with the game on the line. If you want to find fault, I'd say we should have tried to run more in those last 3 possessions, and I still we win if Williams holds on to the ball near midfield. Even still, DJ missed several WRs during those last 3 drives, including a horrendous INT on our 2nd to last possession. If we're up more or there's more time left, then DJ is taking a seat, like Syracuse.
But DJ played very well in the 2 games leading up to the coot game. He looked back to how he looked at the beginning of the year. So there was no reason to not start him, and there was never a good spot to put Cade out there. Certainly leading until 10 minutes left then down by 1 point was point to throw him out there.
It's easy to suggest Cade would have won if he was the QB, but that's made easy in hindsight.

I believe that if our top 4 RBs had been rotated in and out through the 3d quarter, then feed Shipley and Mafah all of the 4th quarter, we would have won, plus we would have scored another TD...

The coots will take credit for that but will live to regret it.

That is one way to give Coots credit for something! Haha, but I thank them for making Dat-Boy see the light!

Had nothing to do with the coots. Beating them is a bump in the road toward our ultimate goal
