And how did I know the first comment and (before I even scroll) most comments were going to be negative towards RG3.

I’m sure he’s better than some QBs either starting or on the bench right now! Way worse QB’s who float around the league don't get this kind of treatment i.e. Josh Mccown, Fitzpatrick, who’s another one.

And how did I know the second comment and (before I even scroll) replies were going to be how he's better than current NFL QBs.

Why do people always mention being better than the back ups? There's a good chance RG3 would want more money than most back ups would, and teams aren't going to pay for that.

Not to mention he regressed every year he was in the league, some of that due to injury but never the less, he has been out of football for a while so there is no telling how good he will be.

‘Anthem’ but this issue around the sport of football has gone on long enough and the dude is still unemployed.

How do you know it's not about the ridiculous $$$ he wants?

Nov 15, 2017, 5:30 PM

Maybe if he came with a reasonable price tag he'd be employed. Maybe if hadn't opted out of his contract he'd be employed. Maybe if he didn't wear socks depicting cops as pigs and shirts supporting Castro (which is ironic that he supports Castro but not America because of America's "police brutality against minorities"?) he'd be employed. Maybe if his girlfriend didn't send out a racist tweet comparing the Ravens owner to a slave owner when they were about to sign him he'd be employed.

Quite a few people think he's unsigned over politics but it could be something else.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If he didn't opt out the 49er's were going to cut him anyway

Nov 15, 2017, 9:01 PM

And link to article where he has came out and asked for tons of money? Oh yeah there isn't one as he never did that. It could be your upset that you can't control his mind or anybody else's, and that causes you anxiety because of your deep seeded fears and hate.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We don't know how much he was asking, that's the point.

Nov 16, 2017, 10:53 PM

Everyone just assumes it's the kneeling, and I'm saying maybe it's not. He's a good qb, certainly better than Savage and some other current players. But he isn't good enough at whatever his current asking price is or he'd be on a team. Or perhaps he's demanding an opportunity to start and wasn't willing to take a backup role when the window was open. I actually think the Colts or Texans should have sign him. Maybe the Browns as Kizer isn't the answer. Maybe even the Broncos, their future qb apparently isn't on the roster. But he has to be affordable.

Nothing to say about the rest of the post? You cherry picked one line which I just addressed.

I don't have fears or hate. You mistake me. I'm very rational. I'm also very libertarian, I'm sure you thought I was very republican so you must be very liberal?

And yes, the 49ers probably would have cut him but we can't say they were definitely cutting unless I'm unaware of a report.

Re: I would like to see RG3 at a decent program...

Nov 15, 2017, 1:28 PM

RG3 isn't chopped liver...but he is a poster child for being drafted by the wrong team. It's bad enough the average NFL career is so short, but that average has to be compounded by the number of players who suffer being selected by a lousy team...and thrown to the wolves. Franchises want their pound of flesh from the 1st round money they pay out. That might be fine for the first year, but it's not conducive to a long career. There's a reason so many mid/late round players have the long careers, typically...and the early rounders are retired and crippled.

Re: No offense but, I think DW4 is doing

Nov 16, 2017, 1:13 AM [ in reply to Re: No offense but, I think DW4 is doing ]

RG3 was a system QB who refused to do little things like slide. His attitude was poor, and he didn’t have the respect of his teammates. Many of them called him RG Me. He had potential and injuries didn’t help, but his downfall was due mostly to the fact that he was a selfish teammate, didn’t like listening to his coaches, and was undersized and weak when it came to running a zone read offense. Many on here act like he played for bad teams. The Redskins were playoff caliber for much of his tenure, and could have been Superbowl contenders if they had someone with Cousins skill set back when RG was starting.

Re: No offense but, I think DW4 is doing

Nov 17, 2017, 11:48 AM

2012 - 10-6 1st in NFC
2013 terrible
2014 terrible
2015 - 9-7 1st in NFC

So 2 of his 4 seasons we were first in the NFC and both times lost in the Wild Card game, mostly because of his mistakes.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I should add that Cousins played the 2015 season, but

Nov 17, 2017, 11:56 AM

it was RG3 and his lack of ability and injury that caused Cousins to be thrown into a starting role he wasn't ready for. The point of my original post is that Redskins could have been so much more with a QB at the level Cousins is right now. We had the players in every position except QB.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

RG3 still better than Strip Sack Savage

Nov 15, 2017, 2:37 PM

Tom Savage threw 2 picks and fumbled twice against the Rams. Yes, the Texans o-line bears a lot of responsibility for this, but, clearly, Savage is not the answer.

The Texans won't even get a decent draft pick out of losing. (They traded that to get DW). They might as well sign someone mobile enough to deal with the Texans lack of o-line and who can get the ball to Nuk.

It's a shame Tajh Boyd couldn't have made it as a backup in the NFL. He would be perfect here.

Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly do you all have against RGIII? He said nothing disrespectful towards Watson. I believe in the comment every seems to be getting upset by, he only means he could help Watson during this injury period, as RGIII has suffered his own bout of star like play before serious injury. I don’t know why everyone seems to be taking offense to his comments. I don’t remember RGIII doing anything controversial to deserve this. Seems like a nice enough guy, and he’s gotta be better than Savage...

RGIII is actually a nice guy and quite and intelligent man. I think he has matured a fair degree in recent years and I hope someone gives him a chance to play his part in professional football again.I don't understand the RGIII bashing; he doesn't really deserve that.

I am not sure he is in a position to help DW4; he has enough support as it is and hopefully post injury will be just as electric as he was a few weeks ago.
