Given how well Army has played the last few years, Tenn realized that even with 2 spring practices, summer seasons and fall camps and 1 season under their new coach, that they didn't want that smoke!!
Honestly, this should be viewed worse than the actual loss that might have happened. What a sham. I hope they win just enough to get into a bowl game, and get matched up with Army.

Agree it sounds like a dishonorable move by TN -- and it begs the question why doesn't DRAD schedule Army, Navy or Air Force with possibly a 2-1 deal? Would the academies have any interest? Could we push out Furman or La Tech to another year and take on Army in 2022?
I would be interested to hear the Army's take on this before

all is said and done. If I were a Tennessee ticket holder - I'd be ticked simply because the Army game would have been a much more entertaining affair than Akron.
As an IPTAY Clemson season ticket holder, it is a bit annoying to know that 2 of the home games we schedule every year will be against some cupcake or less than desirable opponent (this year it is SC State and UConn). I understand why the schools do this but if we are honest - these games are boring to watch and are more scrimmage than a real game. By the second half - over 50% of Death Valley is empty and other than tailgating with friends, the cost and trip to Clemson is hardly worth the effort for these games.
