Techie Question For VPN

Aug 16, 2022, 2:10 PM

Users to watch out of market games. I tried on the Ipad first before the TV. It’s impossible because Hulu Live requires your location settings to be on which is a dead giveaway. If on, and even if you select a remote server via VPN, and you still get local stations.

There were some a week or so ago that stated they routinely use VPN to watch out of market games. Did you do so on your TV? I checked the TV settings and the location settings were turned off.

For those that use VPN, was it on your TV and were you able to do it via Hulu Live?

I can't speak to using a VPN on a TV, but I did use a VPN last night on my iPhone to stream the Braves game via the MLB.tv app. I don't currently have a way to connect my phone to my tv, but I ordered a lightning to HDMI adapter last night to make it happen.

Does your ipad have GPS services available? If so you're going to have a tough time spoofing the GPS service.

Outside of that the easiest way to get it on your TV is to use a desktop/laptop without GPS services and a VPN that offers HTML5 geolocation spoofing with low leak rates (if your VPN is free it likely offers neither). You can then get the benefit of the VPN on your TV without needing to download a VPN app onto your TV that may or may not work.

There are apps that will spoof gps.

It doesn't work for all things but it works for a surprising number.

The iOS apps are notoriously bad at spoofing gps location. You'll have better luck using something like iTools.

Sometimes the road to the truth is so elusive it's confusing and reality becomes illusion.

I can Airplay off my phone or IPad to the tv but I have Apple TV. I’m sure there are other work arounds to stream from you device to tv.

I have a VPN but can’t bring myself to pay that much for MLB.com.

Miss my Braves games.

If you pay monthly, it's $25/month which I agree is ridiculous, but if you only care about the Braves, you can buy the entire season for $55 which I think is very reasonable considering how many games they play.
