First trip to Tally...

Sep 23, 2014, 10:12 PM

I've been to almost everywhere in the ACC, plus Auburn, Scar, UT, and Vandy.
Of everywhere I have been this was the best I have been treated as an opposing fan. Hands down.

When we parked we hadn't even made it out of the car before we were offered a beer and greeted. The FSU fans there talked with us, joked around and were overwhelmingly friendly.

We walked all the way across campus to the entrance of the stadium and around the stadium to the alumni club tailgate. During the trip we were greeted by several fans who thanked us for coming and spoke highly of how awesome of a place Clemson is.

In the stadium we were surrounded by FSU fans. Not a single one of them was rude. My wife and I felt comfortable cheering and talked a lot about FSU and Tallahassee with the fans around us.

After we lost almost everyone around us patted us on the back and told us good game and on the way to the car we had several people stop and talk to us about the game and thank us for coming.

We ran into one rude fan, who was a very drunk college girl. Other than her, no one rude or went out of their way to say anything to get a rise out of us.

We will be back in two years for sure. It was also awesome to see so many Orange wearing fans there.

- so kind

Had no issues, it was just my pregnant wife and I. This is all coming from a lifelong Gator fan too. I don't know if they were just nervous about Jameis or what, but no problems.

Was treated nice for the most part. Tailgated with a few of their fans and had a good time. Although on the way to the stadium we heard a few f-bombs from their "fans" that clearly didn't go there and didn't look like they were even going into the game. I guess every school has their people that just sit outside and cause trouble though.

Tally folks are kind...

I have been there 3 times, total class acts. The fans are kind and helpful. I would go back anytime and feel free to take along my family, too.

Maybe because I'm a college kid, I was treated horrible. I went to grab a bite to eat at a restaurant before i headed over the stadium. Some loser on his phone stopped his phone call for a second to say to my girlfriend and I as we were walking in, "Why are you wearing those colors in these parts of town?" Not a big deal, but you had to go out of your way for that?

It only got worse walking to the stadium, inside the stadium, and then the walk of shame. FHRITP was the most commonly used phrase towards us. It was just as bad 2 years ago.

Must have been where you were? We are in our mid twenties and had nothing said to us. However we walked through more of the upper-level tailgating areas to get to the stadium.

And it's always been a good trip. Never had a problem with the Seminole fans, and many have gone out of their way to be hospitable. Sometimes the students get mouthy, but nothing I'd consider egregious from an opposing fan-base. It's been my best of any road experience in the ACC, just because the fans actually know something about football. Up until last year they tended to think they were a little better than they actually were, but I think we do that just as much ourselves.
