Between COVID/health related concerns, the spate of NBA fans lashing out at athletes, and the every rising value of the higher profile college athletes, it wouldn't surprise me. Would hate to see it happen, though. One of the great and unique Clemson traditions, and one that I remember from my youth going to Clemson games.
Maybe they'll let us on the field after the teams have exited so kids can still play and we can take pictures and such.

perhaps irrational when it comes to changes of any kind to the football program as we have known it.
I get it to a point, because fans running on the field and gathering at the paw are really neat traditions that we love. But the COVID pandemic, plus players being treated more and more as untouchable VIPs, is going to result in some inevitable changes unfortunately.

60 years ago when we were kids it was easy to go on the field and try to get a chin strap but in 2021, that is a thing that should be just remembered. Very few schools allowed fans on the field prior to COVID and now we have to all realize that some things will not be like they used to be. Life happens.

Sad existence when you think it's ok for government
Jun 2, 2021, 6:46 AM

and media to regulate your very own thoughts. If you are too afraid to let people run on the field then you probably shouldn't be sitting in the stands with 84,000 other people. And so you don't go to the game doesn't mean you get to regulate other peoples lives. Pretty sure running on the field isn't going to increase your exposure anymore than you standing in line for a large coke and hotdog, then going to the pisser, or using the portalets after 478 people used it the 3 hours before you.
Get your head out your rear, you would never run on the field a even without Covid, that is why it's no loss to you. Quit worrying about what others do and let them have fun.
Sad existence!!! Ha! And yes, I had a good friend 39yrs old die from Covid, but I also had a friend that died in a car wreck. Your odds of dying is much more likely driving your car especially over the young people enjoying the game and opportunity to experience a Clemson tradition. So I guess you better have your groceries delivered, find a Dr thatakes house calls, and have direct deposit on us your free government money!! Sounds like your Sad existence is vocalized by trying to make others miserable.
Jeeze!! People need to get a life and quit buying the fake and negative BS that is fed to them daily!

1. not knowing people who have died is a "sad existence" ? I don't think that insult came out the way you wanted it.
2. I do know people who have passed while they had covid. The most recent was fully vaccinated.

Just an old fart's opinion, but

this is part of "something that is in those hills." Maybe the compromise is let the kids on the field to mingle with the players. In the early 60s it wasn't a problem and boy you could see the kid's eyes light up if one of the players gave them a chin strap or wrist band. It was a big part of the "Clemson family" atmosphere. In the late 90's early 2000's it amazed my wife (a Memphis girl) how all of the game atmosphere was family oriented. When we tailgated with friends how the kids in neighboring spots would be polite and seeming to know that Clemson was something special. It would be shame to loose this to political correctness or fear of legal liabilities.
Of course the other side of this is I thought things went to hell when they stopped the "rat hats."

...as soon as the game is over. All the team stuff, including vehicles, plus the television equipment also including vehicles and a lot of cable. The coaches and key players are interviewed as soon as the game is over and I believe I read Coach Swinney is dropping his highway patrol escort after the game. There are also a lot of media folks (more than there used to be) with some pretty big equipment trying to exit. The end of the game is not really the end for a lot of folks and seems there is a lot of potential for an accident.

What's more important, leaving at halftime to keep your buzz going and not getting back until mid third quarter OR sacraficing that buzz and actually supporting your team all 4 quarters. You don't think players and coaches notice the stadium is half empty at second kick-off?

People are already not wanting to attend games in person. Being able to leave at halftime and tailgate is part of the Clemson experience. I personally don’t leave the stadium but others do. If CUAD thinks that IPTAY members are going to accept no pass out at halftime, some people are going to be very surprised.

IPTAY could monetize the pass outs- say $20 each. It could help raise some revenue so they can gold-plate the flush handles on the toilets in their new office building. They look kind of plain now. IPTAY deserves better than that.

I think it’s stupid for the students to bumrush the field after a win against the Citidel or Wake, so that crap can go. I doubt the players like it either.
Passouts were fun, but I actually thought we got rid of them already.
My solution, other than selling beer in the stadium would be to block off Avenue of Champions under the ramp to vehicles and use the area as a nice beer garden/paid tailgate area. Yeah, some big $ boosters would lose parking spots, but I’m sure an equitable solution could be found for them.
People who want to head out to grab a quick cold one to reenergize their buzz could do that quickly and get back inside. Plus, the school gets to wet its beak on the booze sales. Would be a great view of the busses going by for all those not prepared to make it inside before the run down the hill.

Would not be surprised one bit if the ACC follows other P5 conferences in not allowing it and issuing fines. Sadly there is always someone that doesn't know how to act these days. It's not just Clemson fans running onto the field at DV but it's fans of opponents too may times.

Best part would be getting rid of those monster thick retractable goalpost at the base and go back to regular ones. Even bring on the H-style so the team can run through it when coming down the hill and not around it.

We went through this all before about, what, 10 years ago? There was a rash of post game on-field injuries and violence throughout college football. Field goals collapsed and hurt people, fights, trampling. The SEC banned on-field celebrations. Clemson installed retractable goals and managed field access points in response. It was handled well. If it didn't happen then, it won't happen now.

manage field access points.
While security is present, they pretty much stand out of the way so they don't get trampled by the crowd climbing over the walls and rushing the field.

I'll give you that. My point is that if post game on-field celebrations weren't stopped then, they will not stop now. There was a WHOLE lot more momentum and percieved need back then. I think this is a case of looking for something to get wound up about during dark time. Folks should chill.
