Take away Nike from Oregon and

How good do you think they would have been these past couple of years. Nike has bought so much of what Oregon currently has and is a big deal when they recruit.

Don't begrudge others for their success. They are not doing it illegally, so why concern yourself with their good fortune.

That said, they have an awful lot of their eggs in one basket, Phil Knight. When he is gone, they will have to figure out how to replace his $$ with other contributors. Since they have not had to really build the massive alumni fund raisng mechanism up like the rest of us, it will likely hurt them in the future in trying to catch up on that front.

And like others have said, money doesn't buy wins. Look at Oklahoma State. They have a big sugar daddy too. Texas has all the $ in the world. Michigan ain't hurting. Yet they are all struggling.

More important than $ and facilities is the tradition of winning and the coaches leading the program. Your facilties have to be good enough, but they don't have to be ultra either. Look at Texas A&M even. They have some of the best facilities out there, but they were not even in the discussion this year.

Just keep paying for good coaching and instilling a core philosophy of integrity and family and winning and not ignoring the necesary facility upgrades and you are in just as good a place as anybody else in terms of potential and opportunity to win.

Geographical location may ultimately be the achilles heel for folks like Notre Dame, Penn State, Michigan, Wisconsin, etc. With the population shifts moving away from the northeast and midwest, their local talent pools will be negatively impacted there. And getting kids to go to a school that is a long ways away from their families who they want to be around to see them play ball will be a huge factor.

We are in a good spot.

Armor. . What has it done for them.

The big 12 schools are backed by real money. . Money from oil which makes money from shoes look like chump change.
