One observation about Ukraine….

Feb 26, 2022, 11:58 AM

If the Afghans stood up for their country the way the Ukrainians are, the Taliban wouldn’t stand a chance. Same with Mexico and the cartels.

Indeed. Something we can all agree with.

I also think it’s pretty cool how many Russians are out there protesting ole Putin, knowing how brutal he is to opposition at home.

And observation two

A well armed population willing to fight is doing pretty well against a military powerhouse. Doesn’t help the “the second amendment is outdated in modern times” argument.

sure sure sure...

Feb 26, 2022, 3:58 PM

only issue with that conclusion is how much of that well armed population of Ukraine is using US Government (military) equipment. I doubt Ukraine is fighting with just handguns.

Good point. I’m not sure how many regular citizens own anti aircraft and antitank equipment.

their military is, but they're handing out rifles to anyone

Feb 26, 2022, 4:10 PM [ in reply to sure sure sure... ]

who is willing to fight. Granny isn't shooting SAM's from her root cellar.

everyone having guns certainly has some effect, no argument.

Feb 26, 2022, 4:17 PM

But like you say, Granny isn't shooting down any MiGs.

I agree, we should allow citizens to own military grade weapons.

A guy just "accidentally shot himself" @ Soutpark mall today

Feb 26, 2022, 10:22 PM

A lot less than Covid killed; also with a whoopsie-daisy.

Let me rephrase….

Feb 27, 2022, 12:35 AM [ in reply to A guy just "accidentally shot himself" @ Soutpark mall today ]

Military grade guns. I do not think people have the right to possess military grade explosives. Would probably thin out a lot of the herd that shouldn’t be voting anyway, though.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

sound like a pretty bad idea

Feb 27, 2022, 12:10 PM

we would just end up using those weapons on each other
