This is the murder rate per capita by city so far in 2021. Seattle does not even register, it is still considered one of the safest big cities in America. And murder rates are up 40% nationwide, so pointing at Seattle as some kind of litmus test is silly.

Private security officer in a bright yellow jacket on every singe street in the downtown business district. Turns out the cops are so underfunded and ineffective at preventing crime down there that the downtown businesses just pay for the security as a cost of business. Ridiculous.
