Strange recruiting - I noticed in the State of SC….Clemson

Aug 14, 2022, 6:22 PM

Doesn’t have any of the top 15 recruits nor is it projected to get any……NOT that it matters, but usually we would have a few…..

I think if I recall correctly, there would have only been 1 that was on the big board but we got a higher ranked commit early on. I don't remember kids name but he was a top 4 SC player.

Clemson only offered 2 SC players so far, Freeling and Markee Anderson if I’m not mistaken.

Pretty sure it was Freeling that was on the board.

The Palmetto State is up and down year to year and this

Aug 14, 2022, 7:10 PM

year appears to be a down year. Taking in-State players when better players are available is not a solid plan for national championship contenders.

Last year we wanted the states top two WRs and we got them. We also wanted the #1 overall player in CB J. Lucas and we got him too. We did miss out on a really good LB who left the state.

This year we’d have liked to have signed the states top two OL but the best one Monroe Freeling has no affinity for in-state schools and the other one was raised a Scar fan.

It’s pretty hard to argue that (other than RB) we haven’t gotten pretty much every position covered with solid talent and numbers in 2023.

This is a great class top to bottom!

We'd have 'em if we wanted them.

Not strange at all.

Where is Clemson ranked in recruiting?

Aug 14, 2022, 7:32 PM

That’s what matters. BTW your lack of research and creativity gives you a .5 out of 10 for this one. Do your homework next time coot.

Maybe it’s because they are not elite players. South Carolina is not know to be an elite level state for high school football. I played school ball in South Carolina and coached in Georgia. The competition level in South Carolina is no where near that in the state of Georgia. Just take a look at the top ranked players in South Carolina on 247 and compare them to how many they have compared to Georgia and other surrounding states. Just saying.

Last I looked the dirtpeckers only had three in state commits.

Down year for SC talent.

Interesting the face you put on this when you say "Clemson doesn't have any of the top 15". As if trading the 4s and 5s we got for the 3s and 2s you're speaking of would be preferable.

It’s called ability to recruit nationally in search of the best players. Sometimes that includes in state players and sometimes it does not. I have a feeling that perhaps you root for a team that does not enjoy nor understand that concept !
