destroys almost any credibility they may have had. If they had left it alone and let it play out naturally, on FOX/CNN/MSNBC during normal daytime hours, it would have been bad enough, but at least it would have been normal partisan stuff. Now, there is only one point to all of this: Trump, and by association, Pubs bad, and Dems good, and we are going to make #### sure everybody gets it, and the mainstream media is, in an almost unprecedented way, fully participating in getting out that message. Whether or not this uncovers or reveals any shocking truths about Trump and the pubs, no serious, honest person can deny that all Dems are hoping this absolutely destroys Trump and all of his supporters, and are participating with that expected outcome. Given that, and the fact that Dems are almost exclusively driving this, it's clear that all that are actively participating are biased in that direction, including the prime time (mainstream) media.

Still, even if this committee provides hard undeniable evidence of all of that, it won't hurt my feelings one bit and it won't change the fact that this has been a totally partisan effort from the start driven entirely by Trump's personal and political enemies. Now they've managed to make it a prime time "TV Special". Even though it's a former president and a potential future president, it's not the "problem" everyday Americans are worried about right now; it's not even near the top of the list. But, with the help of a summertime mini-series TV Special, it could move up the list a little, for now, and give Dems something to hang their hats on in the face of the real disasters Americans are facing since they took over.

An independent commission would have been better, but I would still find it ridiculous given the context of the time period and the lack of any investigation into the widespread organized rioting that occurred during BLM/Antifa riots. Last post as to not go too far off topic, but we've got a Vice President who promoted bail funds for violent rioters, and a BLM organization who is still bailing out violent criminals while their leaders are buying million dollar properties. Given the billions in damage and widespread destruction of communities across the country who are still suffering from it, I'd think that would be a bit more important than some people parading around the capital for awhile. But obviously those are just regular people who were affected by all of that, not super important Washington politicians.
Basically, I do not think you can look at January 6th as an individual event, to do so ignores the political and social environment that was the catalyst for it. An environment that was promoted and created by many who are crying the loudest about Jan 6th.

A hate everything about the riots and that whole movement. But it is just simply not the same as the President of the got dang United States pushing the false narrative that he really won the election and gangs of his supporters storming the Capital in an attempt to stop the lawful actions of Congress. That cuts at the very foundation of our government and was a big friggin deal.
Members of Congress has to hide in offices, police were killed, a person was shot breaking through a barricade, mobs called for VP Pence to be hung.
Eff all of that and any efforts to minimize the significance of what happened that day. All while President Trump watched it unfold (reportedly and I'm most interested to find out exactly what he did that day).

Over dramatizing January 6th. Both events cut at the foundation of our government and I guarantee you the riots and defund the police movement will have a much more profound impact on your way of like than Jan 6th did. Just look at the way we give criminals a slap on the wrist and continually release them now, direct result of BLM’s movement.
I’m not really moved by members of congress, who have armed security, having to hide after a year of innocent people being beaten and having their businesses destroyed while law enforcement stood by and watched. People were burning cars and issuing all sorts of threats after Trump was elected in 2016, so I’m equally unmoved by people supposedly threatening to hang Pence.

My comment is coming from watching previous House hearings and realizing that most of what I'm watching is grandstanding and soundbytes. Why would this be any different? I'm pretty much done with watching the House for any debate or hearing.

The only reason January 6 committee appears to be partisan is due to the fact 99% of Republican politicians and right wing media will not participate in or broadcast a very necessary investigation of an attack on American politicians and American law enforcement officers. The GOP simply doesn’t have the guts to publicly admit that trump is a con artist.
As the Jan 6 events were happening quite a few GOP folks and Fox News parrots were admonishing trump. Then once it was over, they got in line and have been sucking up to him since.
About 38% of Americans have no spine.

that the President of the United States was doing and/or considering to do things well outside of the law/Constitution to prevent the peaceful transition of power.
That, in and of itself, is a big eff'ing deal. The fact that this same person has a good chance of running for POTUS again makes it even more important.
I'm reserving judgement until all of the facts come out, but it really looks pretty bad. And it's really concerning to me that so many people seemingly dismiss what happened on Jan 6 and the period leading up to that as "no big deal".

and respect the position.
My only thoughts on this, is that if you want to go after presidents and politicians for breaking the law, go after all of them. If you're picking and choosing who you hold accountable, then you don't have much ground to stand on unless you're either looking to sow division or achieve a partisan victory.
American households are getting skull ###### right now. This puppet show in Washington will do nothing to change that.

If you're talking about inflation in the last sentence...I'm not too sure what the admin can be doing to change it substantially. It's a world-wide supply-side issue for the most part.
Obviously, the massive government doling out of cash to consumers threw gas on the fire...especially the last round. But I'm not sure you can hang that all on the present admin when the last admin was just as gung-ho on doling out the cash in the name of relief.

My opinion is it's all a bunch of fabricated ######## to sow division. You won't get that from me.
We as a populace have a rough couple years in front of us. Bitching at each other over what orchestrated ######## we see on the talking box or your social media feeds ain't going to help us one bit.
