can ruin my career and destroy my entire life. When did America become so mentally weak? I’m not condoning anything, but this unjustified crucifixion of people has to stop.

I hardly talk to or even interact with my employees the last 2 years because of it, unless it’s time for a performance review or some other work issue that needs immediate attention. I used to do happy hours and talk with them all day, now it’s better to be safe than accidentally say something that could offend someone. It sucks but is what it is, it’s not saying anything bad about the people and none have ever given the vibes that would ever be the case, but in my mind it’s about self preservation and evaluating risk/reward. The risk/reward for being sociable with employees just isn’t there, for me.
