State run propaganda outlet Fox News is now questioning

Jul 2, 2018, 4:09 PM

Michael Cohen's credibility since he gave an interview to ABC News. Cohen said that he didn't believe the Mueller investigation is a witch hunt and disagrees with those who question the FBI.

What a shocker...

I am shocked. Anyway, this will probably only make Cohen feel more betrayed and make him spill the beans.

Whatever emerges from a lawyer-client confidentiality breach

Jul 2, 2018, 4:41 PM

, I will ignore. This is a blatant attempt to find something, ANYTHING on Trump. It's well outside Muellers original scope and purpose.

Nice try, Macedon. Keep up the fine work.

I called The Media, state run, during Obama's tenure and just about every lib on here dogged me for calling it that.

What changed?

Probably because people didn't take you seriously because yo thought Obama was a racist secret Muslim from Kenya etc. ;) That and the fact everyone is partisan and now it our turn to attack the conservative station now that Trump is office. I will say, that although I am biased, I thin Fox is much more state run like with less professional integrity than the other "fake news" sources.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Rasslin' analogy. Fox is just openly biased, while

Jul 2, 2018, 5:07 PM

all of the other networks are still in kayfabe mode, carrying on the charade that it's just objective reporting of the facts by truth-seekers. Fox is the WWE of the news world, open about their bias but carrying on the show knowing that everybody knows. Funny thing is, once McMahon and WWE had to admit it was all fake, everybody else gave up too. The mainstream media carries on however, their "fans" in total denial.

Definitely truth to that. Vey well put. I think many of us on the left notice it though. I know I am tired of it. I can't speak for conservatives, but do they see it at Fox too though?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Has Fox said they are openly biased?***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Fair point, but I don't think they need to.

Jul 2, 2018, 8:15 PM

Every one of my liberal friends certainly knows Fox is biased. Funny thing is, all of my conservative friends know it too; they tune in for the conservative perspective. In spite of their "fair and balanced" tagline, they aren't fooling anybody, because they aren't trying very hard to do so. They represent the conservative viewpoint - plain and simple. On the other hand, almost all of my liberal friends think that NBC/MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, New York Times, Huffington Post, etc. are straight down the middle, providing honest, unbiased reporting of the facts. They believe that their opinion shows, like "Meet The Press", "Morning Joe", "This Week With George Stephanopoulos" are fair and balanced. That's the difference.

I think one can make an argument for CBS/CNN/ABC/NBC/Times

Jul 2, 2018, 10:32 PM

at least making the attempt to be down the middle (some more so than others possibly). I think it's a false equivalency to compare what Fox News is and what these other networks are. It's a narrative that many on the right want to push so that they can discredit all media and push people further into their bubbles.

Huffington Post though? Yeah, no, they don't belong in the same category with these other networks.

I dont recall the Times, or CNN intentionally doctoring audio, or photo shopping people's pictures.

I think they make an effort to appear down the middle,

Jul 3, 2018, 12:20 AM [ in reply to I think one can make an argument for CBS/CNN/ABC/NBC/Times ]

but that's about it. Their talking head/opinion/panel shows are all dominated by liberals and the ocassional milk-toast, mired-in-the-swamp republican. Anyone that even remotely defends Trump is outnumbered on the panel 4 or 5 to 1.

Re: I think they make an effort to appear down the middle,

Jul 3, 2018, 5:31 AM

While that may be true of CNN (I don't watch), that certainly is not true of the big three networks. Shows like Face The Nation have great panel discussions.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Thanks for proving my point.

Jul 3, 2018, 11:00 AM

I'll admit Face The Nation is my favorite of the bunch, and is the most even handed with lots of good one on one discussions. The rest are all heavily dominated by liberals and swamp Republicans. The panel or roundtable on The Today Show and This Week With George Stephanopoulos are led and steered by liberal hosts who have tremendous, obvious disdain for Trump. Anybody defending Trump on either of those shows is outnumbered 3 or 4 to one every time. CNN is just sad in their "reporting" and political discussions. They all used to be mainstream, but half of the country supports Trump, at least enough to vote for him. Recent poll numbers reflect that support. This all remains a mystery to the major networks and news outlets, however, as their talking heads are still trying to explain it or pretend it isn't so.

Where are you getting that half the country supports Trump?

Jul 3, 2018, 4:14 PM

I see around 40% that approve of his job (which is different than support I'm told) so far, and no where near half the country voted in the election let alone for Trump.

They got Cohen by the short hairs

Jul 2, 2018, 5:48 PM

They own him now. Don't know what that gives them, but they have it.

Oh, how was it again that they came to take his records? Was it Russian collusion? If not they may be hard pressed to proceed. Seems like it was the payoff to the #### star as a campaign contribution or something as I recall. It all gets confusing, which is what they want.

Re: They got Cohen by the short hairs

Jul 4, 2018, 11:01 PM

Mueller is working the Russia collusion investigation, but he's also farming-out other crimes the FBI uncovers. Cohen will be prosecuted by others for financial crimes by the Southern District of NY and the State of NY, likely money laundering with the Russians through bogus real estate purchases.
Of course, if he spills on Russian collusion by TheRump, and money laundering by TheRump, his jail time will be diminished.
And TheRump can't pardon his friends, family, or himself from charges brought by the states.
