State of the Program Exposed

May 1, 2022, 3:39 PM

Another 10 win season in 2021
Beat Coots 30-0
Predicted TOP TEN for 2022 by most

Results = Not Bad, way better than most seasons

Excellent QB room for 2022
Excellent WR room for 2022
Excellent RB room for 2022
Don't get me started on the Defense

We need improvement on offense

The defense is pure nastiness.

I can't wait for September and college football. This is a huge season for us and we need to win and win big to get back in the spotlight and gain respect back. Because the ACC is not strong again, we cannot afford any slip ups and have to find a way to win in South Bend. The results of the draft were not good and we have to have a big year to keep our program in the news and for top recruits to want to look our way.

back in the spotlight

I think Tigers have respect from knowledgeable college football fans. Some of that is shown by the fear many show, some by how quick they want to count us out because we only won 10 games.

The ACC is strong this year. Time will tell how strong. It is a solid conference with parity, not just a few good schools pulling up the others.

As a homer, I expect no "slip ups", but they happen. They happen to 99% of teams. The odds of any team going 15-0 is a fool's bet.

The results of the draft have zero to do with the 2022 team. It is much too early to signal 2023 will be a down year.

Not to be a sunshine pumper, but I was very pleased with Klubnik in the Spring game with less than half the starters or OL blocking a split DL where almost everyone in the 2 deep would start at most schools. I thought he made quick decisions (for the most part) and has great touch on his passes. Imagine what he would look like with the entire starting offense against most teams on our schedule.
