Sports bars, large convenience stores, and parlay cards

I love a good sports bar. I can take or leave these large convenience stores. The popularity of both have killed the mom and pop bars and gas stations. Immigrants buying up all the mom and pop gas stations have also contributed. With that parlay cards have disappeared.
Does anyone still get the old paper parlays? Used to have a many fun Saturday's playing 7 on 7.

That would be illegal gambling sir. Lol. I remember a bar would even let High school kids play back in the day.

Man oh man! That was a fun time right there! Used to work at a couple of sports bars that would have them around along with beautiful coworkers and cold beer! Oh to be 20 something again!

why would anybody play an old fashioned under the counter parlay ticket which might get you arrested or fail to pay out?

Never had a problem getting paid. Call me old school but I'm not comfortable using one of my cards on an online gambling site.
Plus it's just the nostalgia of getting those cards on a Wednesday and turning one back in that Friday

No problem getting paid because I never won, but it was fun.

2011 Parlay Win

LOL. I hit a 7 on 7 back in 2011. I got the first 6 games correct and all it came down to was Clemson vs Maryland. I used to never pick a game involving our Tigers but this particular week I couldn't decide on a 7th game. Maryland was kicking our ### and I was pissed about the parlay but even more pissed about the game. Then Sammy Watkins happened and not only did we come back from an 18 point deficit to win the game we covered the spread. I was running around the living room whooping and hollering.

How many of you spring-timers remember tab boards? I would carry a 100 tab board in the weave room at the Fort Mill Plant on Friday at .50 a pull. That was $50 for a $25 bottle of crown. Since my pay was $2.40 an hour, $25 was a big payday!!

Someone wanted to know the name of the boards where you punched out numbers. I remember them as Punchboards. Soneone else talked about pulling tabs, I don't remember them but sound the same as the punchboards. As for the Parlay cards how much did 7 on 7 pay. I remember 5 on 5 paying 100. I never did see anyone making "big" bets on one other than one guy crying one monday night. I think he had bet 200 on three basketball games and one of them hit the spread so he lost. No pushes on parlay cards.
I used to love playing the pinball machines, only the nickle ones. But talking about gambling I remember one year while I was a student at Clemson there was a poker game going one at one of the married students apartments off campus. I was getting early in the morning the the fellows wife told them it wa time to break it up. They kept on and she got tired of it so she called the police and reported an illegal poker game going on at a certain location (her apartment). The police came a broke it up but I don't think they actually arrested anyone but the wife got her point across.
