Actually 6 teams is what is being talked about and is what makes the lay sense. Top 2 get a bye and play the winner of the other games. Simple and logical.

Who wants to see 8-8 teams in the playoffs. Its all about the $.
I can see byes if they expand like the FCS. They have 24 teams.
